Please help support the save_our_supplements_ireland campaign by signing our petition in store. The EU is proposing to set much lower maximum levels of vitamins and minerals in nutritional supplements. This will massively affect the supplements you take or may one day need to take. An Tobairín is celebrating herbal awareness month with our educational A. Vogel herbal medicine display. We have been recommending their wonderful herbal remedies for many years and will continue to do so. For herbal awareness month we’ve chosen to put the spotlight on the herb Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata).

Passionflower is a herb that has strikingly beautiful purple flowers that bloom in summer time. Its medicinal properties include sedative, anxiolytic and antispasmodic. These make it a useful herb for stress, anxiety, insomnia and muscular pain and tension. It can help you to relax, sleep better and relieve cramps, spasms and tension headaches.

It is a very useful herb to help relieve stress and improve memory and focus during exams this time of year.

It is also a cooling herb, which allows it to help soothe nerve pain and emotional “hot headedness”. It can be calming when one feels angry or when life becomes a bit too much and panic attacks occur.
