Tulips and Kippers!
Colourful flowers at our front door - delighted that at least a few bubs plunged in with the other plants came up this Spring. But will the Alliums follow?
I had asked my elegant Spanish B&B visitor if she had ever tried kippers? To her reply ‘No’, I offered some for her cooked course, the next morning, following the usual pretty plateful of fruits.
Azucena has visited Birr - usually during Vintage Week - over quite a number of years and adores my breakfasts. Having warmly praised the Birr Music Festival to her during her previous visit, she had decided to attend and came from Madrid for four nights, booked several concerts and greatly enjoyed it all.
The kippers, with organic tomatoes and rocket, free-range eggs, Sarah’s potato cake (from the super farmers‘ market near Marian Hall) were much enjoyed!
