We're back, we are so baccckkk!!!
If you noticed the silence on this feed, don’t worry—we haven’t gone "mothballed" like some of our favorite distilleries lately. We just took a much-needed social media hiatus to reset the palate, but we are officially back to talk all things whiskey.
And honestly? We couldn't have picked a more "spirited" time to return. The industry is currently going through a bit of a mid-life crisis, and it definitely needs the help (or at least, a lot more people actually drinking the stuff instead of just staring at it on a shelf).
The State of the Spirit (Early 2026 Edition)
The "Golden Era" of unchecked growth has officially hit the "Correction Era," and the landscape looks a little different than when we left:
The Big Chill: From Jim Beam pausing production at Clermont for the year to Diageo scaling back in Scotland, the big players are finally admitting the "supply glut" is real.
The "Buyer's Market" Is Here: After years of secondary market madness, prices are finally normalizing. Rare bottles are staying on shelves longer, and age statements are making a glorious comeback.
A Global Shake-up: While the U.S. and EU grapple with shifting tariffs, the industry is pivoting hard toward India and Asia, where the thirst for premium malts is currently skyrocketing.
Innovation Over Hype: We’re seeing a massive shift toward transparency and provenance. It’s no longer enough to just be "new"; drinkers are demanding to know the farm, the grain, and the exact terroir (shoutout to the pioneers like Waterford for making this the new standard).
Why We’re Diving Back In
The industry might be "consolidating," but the liquid in the glass has never been more diverse. From the rise of American Single Malts to the "umami" cocktail trend taking over bars, there is so much to unpack.
We’re done with the hiatus. We’re ready to cut through the marketing fluff, call out the "greed" (looking at you, non-distiller producers with the 400% markups), and celebrate the distillers who are actually putting craft over capital.
It’s good to be back. Grab a glass—you’re going to need it for the updates we have coming.
