To qualify as Heroic viticulture, grapes must be cultivated on terrain with a slope of 30% or greater. This means that terraces and steps are often required.
With these special conditions in Valdobbiadene, the soil, sun, drainage and airflow are all optimised. These conditions may be challenging for harvesting but this is what makes Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene DOCG a level above the rest.
