Swan's Sunflower Farm Carlow Come & pick your own sunflowers! The entry fee is €5 per person. The sunflowers have not been treated with any chemicals.

Every year we donate money to a charity of our choice and we open for a weekend to raise money for St. Clare's Hospitality Kitchen Carlow. The staff and volunteers there offer an invaluable service and it is our very small way of saying thank you!
On Friday, 14th August and Saturday, 15th August all entry fees will be donated to St. Clare's. Please come along, bring a picnic, pick flowers and celebrate the work they do for so many in Carlow.

We will be closing this Sunday, 16th August.
The drought has taken it's toll on the sunflowers and they have gone to seed quickly this year. There are still flowers to pick but if you plan to visit please be aware that the flowers are no longer at their best.

Liza is a very lucky girl! During opening hours she got her flirt on with a very handsome terrier called Billy. After hours she got the whole place to herself! She loves the route and seems to treat it like her own race track. All in all, a great day for Liza!!! We hope you all had a good day too!

Someone got creative!!!! We are open all bank holiday weekend, 10 am until 6pm. Personally, the walk today in the light rain was so refreshing. Our parched sunflowers will be drinking it up with smiles all round ❤️

Have you seen our 2 buzzards circling overhead? They are big, with an average wingspan of 1.2m. You may even have heard them calling out.
The farm is full of wildlife and the sunflowers are a huge part of promoting biodiversity.
We have rabbits to the edge of the field. They are cute but they eat A LOT of our crops (even sunflowers)! The buzzards have been holding them in check and are bringing balance back to the ecosystem allowing us a fighting chance to get our crops to harvest or our sunflowers to blossom!
So, we are pretty happy to have our buzzards and hope that they will choose to stay with us❤️

Our first day was great! Lovely to be open again and really good to see everyone enjoying the flowers❤️

We checked on the field last night and we think the flowers are ready!!!! We will be OPEN from Monday morning 27th July at 10 am!!!!

We love to see people taking their time and enjoying the flowers so, please don't forget that you can bring a picnic and use our picnic tables.
Dogs are also welcome but please keep them on a lead as we are a working farm and some visitors may not be confident with dogs!

We really look forward to seeing you all and we expect to see you leaving with beautiful bouquets of sunflowers and bright smiles!

So, what are we watching? The sunflowers studiously ignored us this evening as Liza (a cheeky whippet cross) and I went for our evening walk! We will be opening our gates again for 2026. The opening date will be announced on Facebook and Instagram soon.
We all look forward to seeing you again.... hopefully the sunflowers are feeling a bit more sociable!
