With apologies to all of my junior shepherds, what I say here sounds an awful lot worse than it is. I wouldn't be without you for one second. 🤣❤️I was recommending Clarkson's Farm. I finished watching it last night and there's a lot of tragedy in it. There's a lot of joy, a lot of entertainment, and a lot of fun but at one stage he says:, "Why would anybody farm?" I was thinking exactly the same thing. I know exactly how it feels. There's so much crap, so much heartbreak, so much difficulty. There are also lots of bits of joy throughout and I was thinking that's the human brain, isn't it? The bits of joy help us deal with the bits of crap or help forget maybe the bits of crap? That's why, because otherwise nobody'd farm. It's a job that you'd never do.

Sheep's milk has a much higher nutritional profile than cow's milk. For example in our large pots of yogurt there's 24 g of naturally occurring protein and 200 mg of calcium. Given that the protein in sheep's milk is an A2 protein many people find our live natural sheep's yogurt easier to digest than cows milk and so they can enjoy the delicious goodness of dairy without the bloating, sinus or eczema they sometimes get with cow dairy 🥛🐑

Good morning, happy Tuesday. After the madness of last week when a post I put up about labeling and enforcement went crazy, I just thought I'd come on when life is back to normality if you like.

Unfortunately I saw, because I did a bit of a rant, a huge increase in followers. Loads of people were really really nice, a few people saying this is a conspiracy theory against small business (it's not), a few more saying the Irish government wants to close down small businesses (they don't), and most of you saying how can I help?

How you can help is by buying, if you can, local food producers' products if you see them and putting up a post on social media. Give it an old like, a follow, better still a share. The more engagement the better, the platforms prefer that and they use it as an indicator of popularity.

Most small local food producers' products are minimally processed and often they are as healthy, if not healthier than, some of the big multinational brands that they're competing with. Our Velvet Cloud Live Yoghurt is made from fresh sheep's milk and four live yogurt cultures and that's it. Sheep's milk has an A2 protein in it, which many people find easier to digest and they don't react as much to it as they do to cow's milk. That's really it. I had a lovely positive weekend, was up in UCG talking to future innovators, hopefully thank you UCG. The Canadian Prime Minister was in Westport on Sunday and had a selection of canapés all created using Mayo food products, so that's what it's all about. 99% of people on here are fabulous and supportive. You may have heard that the Canadian Prime Minister, Prime Minister Carney, is in town and he’s in Mayo, where his family is from, and tonight he will be in Westport at a civic reception. Thanks to one Mayo food producer, Red Cabot of Cabot's Cookery School and Cabot's Hummuses, Pestos and Spreads, there will be lots and lots of Mayo food producers on the menu at that civic reception. There will be Velvet Cloud live sheep's yogurt, Cloonbook cheese by Velvet Cloud, there's Meskin beer, there's Ackle Island sea salt, there's Cabot's Hummuses and Pestos and Spreads on the canopes. There's local honey, local salads. There's even rhubarb from the Prime Minister's own cousins' farm, all served on delicious canopes. This is what being part of the Irish food industry is all about: one food producer bringing along other food producers so we all rise together.
