Join Barryroe Co-op for a Female Farming Seminar on Tuesday, 16th June 2026 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Darrara Community Centre (P85 PV05).

This inspiring event will celebrate the vital role women play in agriculture while providing valuable insights on leadership, health, sustainability, environmental responsibility and farm business management.

Before representing Ireland, Nicola grew up on a dairy farm in West Cork.

Two weeks ago, she joined pupils from five Cork national schools at the Barrett family farm, where they experienced life on a working dairy farm and learned more about where their food comes from.

A great day of learning, discovery and plenty of questions.

The weather might do its own thing this weekend, but dinner doesn't have to be complicated.
These Halloumi Fajitas are quick, colourful and packed with flavour, finished with Clóna Sour Cream.
A handy one to have up your sleeve for the long weekend.
Whether you're firing up the BBQ or putting the heating back on remains to be seen though. 😆

✔️ Ingredients
• Halloumi, sliced
• Peppers and onions
• Tortilla wraps
• Clóna Sour Cream
• Fajita seasoning

✔️ Method
Cook the halloumi until golden.
Sauté peppers and onions with seasoning.
Warm the wraps, fill with halloumi and veg, and finish with a spoon of crème fraîche.

There were plenty of questions and curious faces during this week’s school farm visit at the Barrett family farm.

For many of the children, it was their first time seeing the workings of a dairy farm and learning more about where their food comes from.

We would like to thank our suppliers Rickey and Susan Barrett and family for hosting a fantastic day on their farm yesterday.

They welcomed pupils from five Cork national schools, giving the children firsthand experience with the workings of a dairy farm. This allowed them to learn more about where their food comes from and the important role dairy plays in a balanced diet.

Thank you to the National Dairy Council for organising this wonderful initiative.
