Ok, much more experienced gardeners than I!!! I sowed these garlic in a raised bed in the polytunnel in January. I covered them in the straw to keep them warm and have been giving them a really good soak every few weeks since. Should I leave the stra or take it up? They have grown much faster than I expected.

Exciting day today.

Two new ladies have come to live with us on City Boy's Farm. They are Hampshire pigs that we are hoping will be happy to spend some time with George - our Daddy pig later in the year.

But we have a problem - we cannot agree on names for our new ladies!!

I am leaning towards:

Maple and Rosie??

But we have:

Cinnamon and Ginger

Or

Perhaps a few of you might have some better suggestions????

I will pop up a few more pictures and videos for inspiration over the next few days.

INTRODUCTING . .

A familiar face for those of you who know City Boy's Farm from it's day's in Limerick Milk Market.

Laoise has served a long apprenticeship to prepare for her new role here on City Boy's Farm!!! From early morning's travelling to Limerick to late night's chasing piglets, she is now ready to take up point of contact here on City Boy's Farm.

Along the way she has served her time cleaning out sheds but is most likely to be found 'busy with the horses'!!!!

Here she is with Aster, one of our 2 rescued Hairy Cobs from the ISPCA in Kilmallock. Aster is one of a very bonded pair who came to live with us in 2021. But more about Aster and Andy later as they too play a pivotal role in the shenanigans planned for 2026!!!

Well that wasn't very clever of me, was it!!! I put out a message yesterday letting all you good people know that we have a few turkeys left for sale and never told you who to contact or how!!

If you would like a locally grown ethically raised (outdoors as much as Dept lockdown due to bird flu allows) bronze turkey please contact Declan on 087 9187862

Birds will be oven ready on 23rd or 24th and can be collected from City Boy's Farm just outside Cloughjordan Co. Tipp or Declan will deliver locally at no extra charge. He will be doing a delivery run to Nenagh and Limerick if you wanted to get in on that one! They cost €85 and will be about 13 lbs. These birds have enjoyed a lot for freedom, feeding off our orchard / wild herbs when allowed by Dept advisories.

We still have a few turkeys left for Christmas. They are €85 each and are expected to be 13 lbs. They will be oven ready for 23rd or 24th December. Collection from City Boy's Farm, Cloughjordan, Co. Tipp or by free delivery locally.

Looks like our Sweet Chestnut trees are maturing nicely. We have had a great harvest this year.

We are all looking forward to roasting chestnuts on an open fire this Christmas 🎄

If you would like some, you can order directly from Declan on 087 9187862 for delivery locally on a Friday evening with our eggs and chickens.

They cost €5 for 400g

Please remember these are a seasonal product - when they're gone they're gone!!

As with everything else on City Boy's Farm they have never been sprayed or treated with any chemicals.
