Welcome to birth of Cong Food Village, this Initiative is a celebration of all Cong has to offer as a Top Food Destination. Growing it, making it, cooking it, sharing it and eating it! Cong Food Village aim is to educate our youth on good quality food and where it comes from. To put Cong on the Map as a good quality food destination. We will be organizing many events throug

h out the year which will take place in the various Restaurants, Hotels & Coffee Shops in Cong. We will be teaming up with Cong Festival and other various local events in the area. So watch this space for up and coming events:

👨‍🍳 We’re kicking off our Chef Spotlight Series with Jonathan Keane, Executive Head Chef at The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be introducing some of the talented chefs taking part in this year’s Cong Food Festival and finding out a little more about the people behind the menus.

Jonathan will be stepping into the Main Marquee on Sunday, July 12th at 3pm for what promises to be a great showdown as he takes on Liam Finnegan, Executive Head Chef at Ashford Castle, in our Ready Steady Cook challenge.

Expect plenty of creativity, local ingredients and a bit of friendly competition along the way.

🚤 Did you know you can arrive at Cong Food Festival by boat?

Make a day of it with a cruise on Lough Corrib aboard the Queen of Connemara. Departing from Oughterard, you’ll visit the beautiful Inchagoill Island before arriving into Cong via Ashford Pier; just in time to enjoy the festival.

📅 Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th July
🕛 Depart Oughterard: 12pm (boarding from 11.30am)
⚓ Arrive Cong (Ashford Pier): 2.15pm
🕠 Return departure: 5.30pm
