Today, we remember and pay tribute to Carina from Happy Goat Soap, who sadly passed away on 5th September. 💔
Carina had a real passion for making soap and loved being part of markets and festivals. We always looked forward to welcoming her and were so grateful to have her as part of our market community.
She was such a kind, gentle person with a lovely, calm nature, and she will be sadly missed.
Our heartfelt thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Carina’s family and loved ones at this very sad time. ❤️

Dear Customers, Supporters, Followers and Fans of Happy Goat Soap,
This is not like one of the joyful messages Carina usually posted here. She was determined to make her last post herself and did not get to it. I have been struggling with myself if I do or if I don't. As she hasn’t shared with me what she wanted to write about, I’m certain that I can’t do her justice by talking on her behalf. Not doing was never an option
I have been part of Carina's journey from the very first trials of making soap up to where she has left it all behind last week. She had a history with her skin and could only use very specific skin care products. As you can imagine these products are more sterile with no color or fragrance.
She started with small batch production; four to six at a time and the whole family was invited to put beside our beloved shower gel and support Mom with putting her soap into use in our daily life. I know that my parents have used soap bars with their showers and it was a question of changing a habit. Small thing to us, big thing for Carina.
At one stage she was happy with her creation and she decided to register her company. Following the steps of getting assessments for the products Carina applied for stalls on different markets. From there it took off. Happy Goat Soap never went up and beyond in terms of revenue. What happened was for Carina a well of happiness. People went to her stall, looked skeptically at the product range, did a smell test, listened to one of Carina's Goat Stories and might have bought a piece to “try it”. A lot of these people came back and told us that it helped with their eczema, skin condition, soothed the itch and so on. It was genuine positive feedback; feedback as an energy which has fueled her soul and motivated her to keep it going.
Of course she would have loved that Happy Goat Soap would have become much bigger but in reality she ran the full show on her own. She sometimes sent “her best man” to one or the other markets or put him as cover in action but in the end she did it all. Purchasing, Production, Storage, Material Management, Packing, keeping the community updated.
At a later time she started with Wax Melts and Candles. Not really goaty but in her mindset of wellbeing and the creation of a happy place something she put in practice for years but now with her own made stuff.
If you have liked the products, every single piece has gone at least four times through her hands. She really loved doing Happy Goat Soap. It was her little Happy Place. She loved getting ready for the markets, hoping that her costs were covered and there were good days and bad days.
Having said all of the above, you can not imagine how hard it is for me to write this. All of these memories of a person who sparkled positivity, lived in good energy, always believed in the good of people - the same person I called my dearest friend, my partner, my love, my wife, mother of our children has left us.
We as a family deeply regret the passing of Carina on September 5th 2026. We’re thankful for having had the pleasure to share our lives with you. Thankful for the times we had, moments we did know that this was quality life time. We keep these memories in our hearts, we think of you and you will never be forgotten.
