And the winner of the Cully & Sully SOUPerb Awards 2026 is… The Roadside Tavern! 🏆🥣

A huge congratulations to Peter and the entire team at The Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare! 💙💛

The judges were blown away by the whole experience. From the incredible location and warm atmosphere to the fresh local ingredients from the Burren and the unique Scottish twist on their chowder. Everything came together to make it a very worthy SOUPerb winner!

A massive thank you to all five of our amazing finalists who welcomed us with open arms and served up some seriously good chowder along the way.

At McLoughlin’s in Mulranny, we heard all about what goes into making their chowder, from the seafood to the way they serve it (yes, dipping the chips is encouraged 🍟).

Taking it back to our visit to Pat Cohan’s in Cong, Co. Mayo. A SOUPerb finalist for the second year running! 🥣

This one was all about the story behind the bowl. We heard about the influences that go into their chowder, met the people making it and got a closer look at what makes it uniquely Pat Cohan’s. 💚❤️

Safe to say, there’s a lot more to a great chowder than meets the eye 👀
