In just two monthsโ€™ time, the current All-Ireland Champion Medium Herd will be offered for sale! ๐Ÿ†

The sale will include ALL cows born before 2023.

These are deep-pedigreed, phenotypically correct cows from some of the finest cow families in the world. Their quality and performance have been proven both in the show ring and through successful sales.

We are very confident this bull will go on to sire super stock. Much of this is down to the fact we used Elon's maternal brother on heifers in 2024. Below is an example of one of his super progeny out of a 23 month old heifer! He was then used extensively in a nearby dairy herd where the results were exceptional!

Lot 19 - Mercury Elon A953

Sire of this powerful young bull is McCornick Kapaldi who has bred incredibly well in the Mercury herd. The first progeny of Kapaldi have been in high demand with the 10 month old Mercury Emoji A950 selling to the Kilsarlaught herd at last months Extravagnaza for โ‚ฌ6,900. Adding to this Mercury Monty A937 was secured by the Bridgefield herd at 9 months and Mercury Raphael A951 was secured by the Radney herd at 9 months.
On the female front animals were selected to join herds in Northern Ireland and Portugal as well as selling to Southern Ireland breeders.

Lot 19 - As the weeks go on this young bull is really starting to hit new heights! A soft, long bull with super breed character. His sire has already produced a number of bulls sold to pedigree herds including the 10 month old Mercury Emoji who sold at the Extravaganza for โ‚ฌ6,900. His dam has been a super producer in the herd which resulted in us retaining a son for use on heifers last year. A complete outcross pedigree with a super balanced set of figures across the board! Elon was born at 37kg, and is consistently averaging nearly 1.6kg/day.

All three of the Mercury heifers entered in this years Munster Marvels are sired by the powerhouse that is McCornick Kapaldi W659.

This bull carries extreme length and extreme softness. This was matched with super easy calving and gestations as short as 273 days.

However, Its his growth from low birth weights which is most impressive. Nearly all his calves were born sub 40kg but then had the capabilities to hit 1.7kg live weight gain per day.

Adding to the performance his pedigree is a who's who of Angus legends which are outcross for Irish breeders. His sire Rawburn Echester is a direct son of Cudlobe Ellen Erica 46D by the famous Hoff Limited Edition. While his dam is sired by the in demand Duncanziemere Edwin and traces back to the renowned Kim of Fordafourie.
