Beautiful photo by our in-house photographer (and occasional barista) Giulia Vettore just as the Moon reached peak coverage of the Sun last night.
Thanks to everyone who came down to witness the eclipse with us.

Where would be without cereal boxes? Is there anything they can’t do? (No idea of how this photo ended up on our camera roll. Claim your picture credit NOW!)

More experimentation as the Sun blazes above.

Unfiltered shot taken by Paddy at Eamon Ceannt Park just as the light went all strange and made everything look like it was being put through Hipstamatic.

Ear, ear! Alfie’s glowing lobes do some solar-filtering of their own at Eamon Ceannt Park as the Moon reaches full flex.

We’re trying to keep Paddy off the grid these days due to his glaring incompatibility with our key demographic - but then we needed a post about the resurrection of rock ‘n’ roll!
Dublin idols Rocky DeValera & The Gravediggers are back for a reunion show HALF A CENTURY in the making.
Co-fronted by our artistic polymath customer Ferdia MacAnna (ex Johnny Jurex) they take to the stage of The Grand Social in the capital on Friday, August 14.
And as luck would have it, Marlowe has copped 10 of their hallowed comeback tees.
On top of this, we’ve also got our hands on Issue 10 of epic Irish punk zine .quarterly.
So we wheeled out Paddy for the promo shoot of his dreams - hawking music memorabilia on the street.
Both the T-shirts and zines are available in-store and from wearemarlowe.com now.
We’ll post a link in our stories and highlight it above.
Rock ‘n’ roll is officially UNDEAD.

They say you should never meet your idols - but Percy lived up to the hype.
She whispered to us that Marlowe is her “second-favourite” local shop…
We could tell it was just the contractual obligation to M&S that was holding back the truth.
Not that she was telling porkies. She just knows what brings home the bacon.

Yes, we may have single-handedly invented the now iconic and often-copied Aperol Spritz… but that’s no excuse for us to rest on our laurels.
Times change, people change, drinks change. Hell, even changes change.
That’s why we have spent the last six months painstakingly crafting a brand new Spritz that we’re tentatively calling The Hugo.
New things can be scary, so bear with us.
The Hugo Spritz is a groundbreaking, never-before-attempted - by anyone - blend of Prosecco, soda water and elderflower liqueur with muddled mint and lime.
It’s very, very refreshing and floral while being simultaneously deceptively intoxicating.
We’ll be launching this sensational new concoction to the Irish market on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 3pm to 9pm.
So be one of the first to taste it before some Tom, Dick and Harry coffee shop that’s running a wine night in the desperate pursuit of profitability rips us off.
Marlowe: often copied, never equalled.

Rosé-tinted glasses, anyone?
Our Ed donned his “futuristic” shades today to celebrate Marlowe having not one but TWO Rosé wines by-the-glass this week!
He’s simply thrilled about this reasonably benign announcement - and who are we to dampen his questionable enthusiasm?
We’ve also got another three Rosé varieties for sale by the bottle - including Gael Petit’s Fons Singularis which, unfortunately for us, Paddy won’t shut up about.
Some news coming later about a table-booking system for Thursday (from next week so don’t worry, you’re safe tonight) and Friday nights… 😮

“This just in…”
One final, cringey post to launch our new 8am to 9pm opening hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
To be honest, we just had to do something about our evening customers - and, more worryingly, their little ones - spilling out on to the street.
It’s simply not safe, and creates a lot of stress for both patrons and staff.
So we decided that, to stop the previously inevitable sprawl, we are only serving people who have tables from now on.
To make this (theoretically) easier, we have started a QR-code ordering system. Just focus your phone’s camera on the link, and it will take you to our menu.
You can also order via the hatch… if you have a table.
To soften the blow further, we’ve also set up a selection of books and games for you to read or play at your spot outside for free.
You can even borrow one of the books (kids’ titles excluded) for a week: just leave your details at the counter.
Hopefully this breaking news isn’t too alarming.
We’ll keep you up to date with any developments.
Thank you, and goodnight!

No major news - except that we’re now open even LATER three nights a week!
Soft launched our new hours last week - which means we’ll be wrecking your heads about it over the coming days.
You have been warned.
