🚨Brewery Spotlight Alert!🚨

Our Brewery Spotlight for this month is the amazing Rascals Brewing Company from Dublin!

Founded in 2014 by Emma Devlin and Cathal O’Donoghue following time spent in New Zealand, Rascals Brewing continues to go from strength to strength.

Rascals operates a state-of-the-art 35HL brewery in Inchicore, Dublin. They have also incorporated a large scale cold storage facility, off licence and Ireland’s first official taproom into this location. The taproom-restaurant has capacity for 120 people seated and proudly serves some of the most delicious pizza you’ll find in Dublin. They have several taps of their own core range and limited edition beers, unreleased and upcoming beers from their Pilot Kit, local guest beers, and Irish ciders available on tap. Let me assure you from experience, the bliss of that first bite of Rascals pizza paired with one of their beers as fresh as it can be at the source is an unmatched experience. I HIGHLY recommend making the trip.

Rascals also emphasise the importance of community. They regularly take part in community clean ups, are strong supporters of St. Pat’s FC, and also organise community events. The events they host span everything from community movie nights and quizzes to album discussions and karaoke. If you’re ever in Inchicore and looking for the craic, you know where to go! Community is at the heart of Rascals, and Rascals is at the heart of their community.

The range of beers Rascals produce is vast. From sessionable pale ales and gluten free lagers, to fruited IPAs and bold stouts, there is something for every palate.

If you’d like to sample the full range with us to find your absolute favourite, join us in-store on Friday 18th September from 4pm - 7pm to try the Rascals range with one of their amazing team.

For the month of September we are delighted to offer all of our customers 15% OFF the Rascals Brewing Company range, including limited editions and collaborations, from 31/08 - 30/09! Available in-store and online via our website!

Very excited to stock the wines from Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial, one of the hidden gems of the CĂ´te Chalonnaise. Based in Rully, it offers exceptional value with a combination of old vines, low-yield organic farming and minimalist approach in the cellar.

The Domaine received TWO MICHELIN grapes in the inaugural publication, making one of just two CĂ´te Chalonnaise estates to receive such distinction.

Available both in store and online.

We are called Blackrock CELLAR for a reason! 🍷

Over the past few months, we've been quietly sourcing mature wines from trusted merchants and impeccably stored private cellars. Every bottle has been carefully selected for its provenance, condition and exceptional value, with a focus on wines that have reached, or are just entering, their ideal drinking window.

Most of them are one-offs or limited to just a few bottles. Have a browse though the link in our bio!

🚨Brewery Spotlight Alert🚨

Please welcome our chosen brewery for the month of August, Lough Gill Brewery | Tours & Brewhall !

Revival is at the heart of this brewery. Sligo once had five breweries and distilleries operating in the 1820s, but by the 20th century that tradition had disappeared entirely, and the town went over a century without a single brewery of its own. Lough Gill Brewery was founded to change that, bringing brewing back to Sligo and reconnecting the town with its past. It’s the perfect excuse to raise a glass to a bit of local history while you explore what’s on your own doorstep!

Lough Gill Brewery is an independent, family-run craft brewery founded in 2016 by James Ward and his wife Valerie, situated close to the shores of Lough Gill on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

James has brewing and hospitality in his blood, having pulled his first pint at just 12 years old and worked in pubs across Ireland and England before spending time with a beer distributor in the US. He later returned to Sligo, worked as a hotel and then pub manager, and eventually channelled that experience into founding The White Hag brewery in 2013.

Inspired by Sligo’s lost brewing heritage, and with Lough Gill itself as their water source, James and Valerie set out to restore what had been missing from the town for generations. Fittingly, their first beer was named Anderson’s Ale, in tribute to the Anderson family who once ran the original Lough Gill Brewery over a century earlier.

Today, the brewery produces a diverse range of bold, flavourful beers, from IPAs and English Bitters, to stouts and sours. The team takes pride in sourcing local, indigenous ingredients wherever possible, and has collaborated with fellow breweries across Ireland, the UK, and the USA. Visitors can look forward to the brewery’s developing Visitor Experience and Brewhall, where the story of Sligo’s brewing past meets the craft of today.

We are delighted to offer 15% OFF Lough Gill’s amazing selection of beers, including specials, this month from 31/07 - 31/08. Available in-store and on our website!

🚨Brewery Spotlight of The Month🚨

Please welcome !

Whitefield Brewery (formerly known as White Gypsy Brewery) has paved the way in the Irish craft brewing scene since the beginning. They completed their maiden brew in 2009, and the rest as they say, is history.

Spearheaded by Cuilan Loughnane, whose interest in the craft of brewing began in 1993, Whitefield have an extensive range of core range offerings. Cuilan has a reputation as one of the most talented brewers on our small island, and his talent is reflected in his beers.

Whitefield specialise in traditional European styles of beer, with an emphasis on balance, consistency, heritage, and terroir. If the ingredients can be sourced locally, they will be, and this gives each brew a true sense of local identity. Furthermore, each beer gets its name from local characters or locations.

The brewery is also passionate about sustainability, both for the environment and small businesses. The brewery uses sustainable ingredients and processes, and Cuilan has been a main voice for change in Irish legislation which makes it increasingly difficult to operate as a small independently owned brewery.

The Whitefield core range of beers is extensive, including lagers of various styles, a Slovenian hopped pale ale, wheat beers and a peat smoked Irish porter. There is truly something for every palate, and we encourage you to sample the whole range!

For the month of June we are delighted to offer all of our customers 15% off the Whitefield Brewery range, including limited editions, from 31/05 - 30/06!

🚨 Brewery Spotlight Alert 🚨

Please welcome our May Brewery Of The Month, !

Ballykilcavan’s history is rich, having operated as a family farm for 13 generations. The Walsh-Kemmis family have lived on and worked the farm since 1639, and as with any business, diversification has been the key to keeping the farm viable for the future generations. David Walsh-Kemmis took the reins of the farm from his father in 2004 with determination to ensure Ballykilcavan could be sustained and eventually passed on again to his own children.

In the decade that followed David taking over the day to day operations of the farm, he realised that producing barley as their main crop could not provide the long-term stability he desired. He began exploring the possibilities of what they could do to improve the farm’s security for the future using what they had to hand, and thus the Ballykilcavan Brewery and visitor centre were established.

The 440-hectare mixed farm is situated in the heart of Ireland and has been producing barley for “at least three, but probably five generations”. Ballykilcavan lies in a prime malting barley growing area, just outside Stradbally. They use all their own barley in the production of their beers, and in the spirit of keeping everything as farm to bottle as possible, their barley is malted in Minch Malt Company just 11 kilometres from the farm.

All of the water used for the brewing process comes from the farm’s own well giving the beer a true sense of terroir. David and his team have also began growing and maintaining their own hop garden for both bittering and aroma hops, including many British varieties and some early maturing American varieties. Harvested in October, these hops travel the short distance of just 500 metres before their use in the brewery’s “Fresh Hopped Pale Ale”, giving the beer a real local character.

Ballykilcavan are also at the forefront of sustainable farming and brewing, info is available on their website!

We are delighted to offer our customers 15% off Ballykilcavan’s range of beers, including limited editions, for the month of May! Shop in-store or online!
