A little taste of the Roussillon sunshine.

Made from Grenache in the heart of the Maury appellation, this is a rich and beautifully expressive sweet red w**e, full of black cherry, plum, fig and cocoa.

But Maury is not simply about sweetness. There’s freshness, gentle tannins and a lovely sense of balance that keeps the w**e lively rather than heavy.

Think dark chocolate, blue cheese, or simply a small glass to finish the evening.

A fascinating piece of Roussillon tradition — and one of those w**es that deserves to be discovered.

Available at The French Paradox.

Chenin Blanc with a little extra depth.

From the Loire Valley and the historic appellation of Vouvray, L'Inédit 2025 by Maison Darragon is a beautiful expression of one of France's most versatile white grapes.

Chenin Blanc is known for its freshness, vibrant acidity and incredible character — but here, careful ageing in oak brings an extra layer of texture and richness.

The result? A white w**e that is fresh and expressive, while also generous and beautifully rounded.

A perfect bottle for anyone looking to explore a different side of Vouvray and Chenin Blanc.

And if you're curious to know more about this w**e, its story can be found in the Stories section of our website.

Some bottles deserve a little extra presentation.

We sell our w**es bottle by bottle, but every now and then, a special bottle comes in its very own wooden case.

This is Château Bellevue 2016, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru — in magnum. A beautiful Right Bank Bordeaux, rich and expressive, with ripe dark fruit, velvety tannins and lovely notes of spice and cedar.

But let's be honest… the wooden case certainly adds something.

With Château Bellevue engraved into the wood, it makes an already impressive bottle feel like something truly special — perfect for a dinner, a celebration, or simply for someone who deserves a very good bottle of Bordeaux.

Available in the shop and online.

A little corner of The French Paradox, right on Shelbourne Road.

Our terrace might only have a couple of tables, but it's a lovely spot to sit back, enjoy a glass of w**e and have something delicious to snack on.

Right outside the shop in the heart of Ballsbridge, it's covered by an awning — because, well… this is Dublin.

Come for a bottle, stay for a glass, add a little cheese and charcuterie, and watch the world go by.

Just keep an eye out for the rain coming in diagonally.

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am–8.30pm.

The weather outside is very… Irish.

So today, we're reaching for Bordeaux.

Château Hourbanon Médoc 2016 is exactly the kind of bottle that suits a grey, drizzly afternoon: rich, warming and full of character, with the depth and structure you'd expect from a beautifully mature Médoc.

2016 was an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux, and this bottle has had time to develop beautifully in the cellar.

Sometimes you don't need sunshine to enjoy a great glass of w**e.

Just a good bottle, a cosy spot, and perhaps a little patience with the Irish weather.

A bold red from the Languedoc.

Les Brunes 2023 by Domaine Les Creisses is a w**e with real presence — rich, full-bodied and beautifully expressive.

Born from the volcanic soils of the Languedoc, with Cabernet Sauvignon at its heart, it brings together dark fruit, spice, cocoa and beautifully integrated oak. Powerful and structured, but with enough freshness to keep everything balanced.

And for those who like their w**es with a little extra drama: Les Brunes 2023 is available both as a bottle and as a magnum.

We've also written the full story behind this fascinating w**e. Head to our website, open the Stories section and look for “Les Brunes 2023 – A bold expression from the Languedoc.”

A little taste of Cognac… at The French Paradox.

Pineau des Charentes has a special place in our shop. Pierre, the owner of The French Paradox, is from the Cognac region, so perhaps it was inevitable that Pineau would make its way onto our shelves. And, of course, with Tanya being Irish, The French Paradox has always been a little bit French and a little bit Irish.

Our Pineau is Extra Vieux, aged for 10 years in oak barrels. Rich, smooth and beautifully complex, it's deliciously versatile.

As an aperitif — chilled and enjoyed on its own.

After dinner — a lovely alternative to a traditional sweet w**e.

In a cocktail — over ice, topped with tonic and finished with a wedge of lemon. Refreshing and dangerously easy to drink.

And our favourite?

The Pineau Royal. A dash of Pineau topped with Ch*****ne, our own French twist on a Kir Royal. Simple, elegant and absolutely delicious.

A little piece of the Charentes, with a very special place in our French Paradox story.

Available now in the w**e shop and online.

Crozes-Hermitage, without the oak.

Les Coulaires 2024 by Domaine Vendome is a fresh, juicy and wonderfully approachable expression of Northern Rhône Syrah.

Made from 100% Syrah, from vines over 40 years old, the w**e is entirely destemmed and fermented and aged in raw concrete vats — no oak, no toast, no unnecessary heaviness. Just beautiful fruit, freshness, spice and fine, supple tannins.

It's a different side of Crozes-Hermitage: generous, lively and incredibly easy to enjoy.

And if you're curious to know more, we've written the full story of this w**e on our website.

Available now at The French Paradox W**e Shop and online.

A rosé for when summer decides to hide.

Dames Nature 2025 by Château Pas du Cerf is a beautifully pale rosé from Côtes de Provence — so delicate in colour, it could almost pass for a white.

This special cuvée is vinified without added sulphites, giving the w**e a wonderfully pure and fresh character.

And we have to mention the label: a butterfly gracefully flying above a stag’s antlers. A little piece of Provence, even when the weather feels decidedly Irish.

Beautiful, delicate, and made for summer — whatever the forecast.

A little taste of Burgundy royalty.

Puligny-Montrachet 2023 Vieilles Vignes by Florent Garaudet is a beautiful expression of Chardonnay, coming from 45-year-old vines rooted in gravelly clay-limestone soils.

Hand-harvested and gently pressed, the w**e is fermented and matured in barrels for 12 months, with 50% new oak. The result is a w**e with wonderful depth and texture, while retaining the elegance and freshness we love in great Burgundy.

A serious bottle, but one that rewards taking your time with it.
