My god, can life be wildly unpredictable.

We spent our summers together - playing shop, watching Eurotrash (WHAT?!) and, mainly, dancing in front of the mirror to the Vengaboys / Aqua / Five / Blue / Eiffel 65.

Nicoletta was exceptional at drawing. I was the singer. And so, as we got older, after a few more visits between Dublin and Venice, Nicoletta went down the path of photography and I went down the path of opera (YEP. I WENT DOWN THIS PATH TOO).

So like, if you’d told me that when we both got to our (late) thirties, we’d be working together with a lot of oats, I’d have thought you were a total weirdo.

And here we are. And it’s wonderful.

Nicoletta’s talent is completely unmatched, and I feel so lucky that we get to work together, and talk to each other every week. It feels like those childhood summers again.

I’m so excited to be collaborating with for their Nurture & Move pre and postnatal events on the 16th of July.

Every attendee will receive a packet of The Spheres because, honestly, they were made for moments like this.

Anyone who has breastfed knows there are days when you barely have two hands free, never mind time to prepare a snack. The Spheres are easy to eat with one hand, they don’t crumble all over your baby, your clothes or the couch, and they’re made from simple, natural ingredients you can actually recognise.

Every batch is hand-baked by me in Dublin using oats, pecans, pumpkin seeds, honey and a handful of other simple ingredients. No artificial additives. No fillers. Just proper food.

It also feels like the perfect partnership.

is doing something genuinely innovative by helping mums better understand how much milk their baby is taking during a feed, giving many mothers information when they need it at a time when so many are wondering whether their baby is getting enough.

I’m delighted that The Granola Maker gets to play a small part in supporting mums, alongside a company that’s helping bring more confidence and reassurance to mums during every feed.

(…. this image definitely wasn’t shot in Venice. Actually one of the first things on my list to do after the big hol is sending over all the products to the incredible for some shots!)

I have a family wedding coming up (in 3 weeeeeeks) and straight after the family holiday, so I’m taking a month off. I haven’t done this since my wedding. I was a very newly qualified solicitor and clearly VERY brave!!

I’ve no machines or minions to delegate to because all of your granola is MADE BY ME AND NOT MACHINES 🌟

I’m already “at capacity” (the worst term ever but I can’t think of an alternative right now 🤦🏻‍♀️) for next week. AGH. So please put your orders in as soon as you can.

I’ve been thinking recently about some of the very first shops to stock The Granola Maker.

My husband and I drove to visit every one of them. We even made a day trip to West Cork to see my granola sitting on the shelves at . It felt so surreal.

In those very early days, businesses like , and also chose to stock The Granola Maker.

They’re all independent businesses that care deeply about good food, quality produce and supporting Irish businesses and makers. They could have filled that shelf space with established brands, but instead they chose to back a small Irish business run by a mum hand baking granola.

They are all still stockists today, and while my packaging has become a little more sophisticated over the years, the granola itself hasn’t changed. The OG is the recipe that first got me into shops, and it’s still, still my most popular product! (The Spheres a close second place).

I have just added something new to the website:

The Granola Maker Breakfast & Coffee Club.

One packet of The OG and two packets of The Spheres delivered to your door every month.

The idea came from thinking about how many customers order the same products again and again. Granola for breakfast. The Spheres with a coffee. Then another order a few weeks later.

Now it’s all taken care of! Freshly baked in small batches and delivered every month, with free delivery included.
