“The Catholic Church teaches that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore possesses inherent dignity and worth. Racism is a grave sin because it denies this truth. It divides, dehumanises, and contradicts the Gospel message of love, unity, and justice. As Catholics, we are called to reject racism in all its forms—both personal and systemic—and to work actively for a society where every person is treated with equal respect and compassion. ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ (Mark 12:31) is not a suggestion—it is a command rooted in divine love.”
