In our glass, white Burgundy 🇫🇷✨
It is no secret we are Chardonnay lovers and we had the best time at the last White Burgundy tasting.
Despite having a corked 2014 Chassagne-Montracet & an oxidised 2006 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru, this tasting has been one of our favourites of the year.
A highlight was the Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots 2000 from Domaine Francois Jobard with savoury notes and oxidative notes (but not oxidised); walnut, foie gras, mushroom.
The Puligny-Montrachet Enseignères 2015 by is a single vineyard wine; rumour has it is worth Grand Cru status. This wine is drinking well now, with notes of apple & a bit buttery & steely with good minerality it was a delight.
So many highlights on this tasting, we'll write an article about this!
A lot has been said about the longevity of these wines over the last few decades due to cork issues. Some say young Burgundy is as enjoyable as an aged one. What do you think? 🤔
Full lineup at the end of the post.
