So last night we were invited, in collaboration with Clevedon Rugby Club for a sneaky peak at the new Cocktail Bar The JP Bar and what a fabulous place they have created ๐Ÿ‘

Greeted with a glass of fizz by Linda and then a guided tour with Nick, of the various areas they have created for you to relax and enjoy your evening...๐Ÿ‘

The decor is wonderful and the cocktails excellent ๐Ÿ‘Œ

A superb atmosphere and a great addition to Hill Road and JPs bar

Today we had an impromptu visit to Bristol so we popped up to Stokes Croft for a bite to eat ๐Ÿ˜‰

We had plenty of places to choose from but we went for Nadu Sri Lankan cuisine as Sri Lanka is a place we intend to visit ๐Ÿ‘

Out came the tear & share dosa with chutney and sambar, then Victoria went for the soft shell crab (nandu milagu) I had the Black Pork Kari with Matta rice and a side dish of pickled MoJo !

Desert was Watalappan , a spiced custard with jaggery, eggs, coconut milk and cardamom, very nice it was to ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Washed down with an IPA from Basement B**r (solero๐Ÿบ)

A fabulous place with a great vibe and great food ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I'm sure we will be back ๐Ÿ˜‰

Last night we popped into the The Ashville Steakhouse in Bristol for a steak dinner ๐Ÿฅฉ

Now, I've said it before and I will say it again, their steaks are absolutely banging ๐Ÿฅ and their sides dishes are epic !

I had the 12oz sirloin (rare obviously) with some thick cut chips with parmesan and truffle, some pigs in blankets and a chimichurri sauce ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The rest of the touring party enjoyed, rump steak and fillet steak with sides of, creamy spinach, triple cheese mash and mac & cheese ๐Ÿ‘Š

Everything was bloody amazing (as always) and it was all washed down with a Lazer Juice from Bristol B**r Factory (for me)

I did finish with an Affogato and a glass of port ๐Ÿ˜‰
(no cheese this time )

Great food, fabulous atmosphere and wonderful staff๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

After a wonderful ceremony we were treated to a fabulous meal supplied by Pickled Pumpkin

The food was exceptional, very tasty, well presented and superbly served by the staff ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Today we were also joined by the family...

Well today was a slightly different Tasting Tour ! Myself and the team from Pace agency walked to Bristol raising money for Weston Hospicecare ๐Ÿ‘

After a questionable 15 / 16 miles we finished our journey at the Grain Barge for much need food ๐Ÿ‘Š

We all had Sunday lunch and it was fabulous , they accommodated our requirements and looked after us after our long walk ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Mine was all washed down with a couple of pints of North Street C***r Bristolb**rfactory bloody lush x

Bonjour.... So our final day in Antibes yesterday started with a visit to Les Filles du Micocoulier - Antibes for breakfast ๐Ÿ‘ coffee, juice and a French and English breakfast, a wonderful way to start the day ๐Ÿ˜‰

After a visit to the Picasso museum (next door to us) we dropped into Cafรฉ Brun Antibes for an afternoon drink . Now after taking a look at the menu I went for an 8.4% Belgium b**r ๐Ÿบ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ it was most delightful (even after 3 of them ๐Ÿคฃ)

Back home for our afternoon nap and then it was back out to a place we had past several times but couldn't get in ! Thankfully they had a table so, in we went to chezjulesantibes

The menu was excellent with a wonderful selection of dishes, I had a starter of Farcis Nico is Masion (stuffed vegetables with veal) followed by Tataki De Boeuf & Lรฉgumes Du Jardin, which was a triumph ๐Ÿ‘Š Vic had the Rigatoni Pomodora... I finished the evening with a Baba Au Rhum, a spectacular way to finish the meal. Obviously this was all washed down with a couple of glasses of rosรฉ ๐Ÿท ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

...so, yesterday we ventured into Cannes on the train ๐Ÿš† for a walk about ๐Ÿ‘

First stop was for a look around and to see what was in offer ๐Ÿซด Now I did get sucked into a ladies sales pitch and bought 400gsm of nougat ๐Ÿคฆ but that blow was softened when I got myself a 'Canard, Porc & Foie Gras' pastry OMG it was bloody lush ๐Ÿ˜

After some sightseeing we dropped into for our lunch and a well earned glass of rosรฉ ๐Ÿท I went for the Veal Chop and Vic had the beef tartare, both excellent dishes and well received by both of us ๐Ÿ‘

After a short train ๐Ÿš† ride home and a siesta on our return we wandered of into town so soak up the sights and sounds of and we stumbled upon a lovey French bistro in one of the side streets... More Rosรฉ ๐Ÿท was ordered along with sardines for me and squid ๐Ÿฆ‘ for Vic ๐Ÿ‘Œ

For our second day in we popped downstairs to the local market to purchase some breakfast items ๐Ÿ‘ we had some wonderful cheeses ๐Ÿง€ fresh bread ๐Ÿž, salami sausage, fresh fruit & yogurt!

We then sat on our balcony to enjoy the sights and sounds of Antibes ๐Ÿ˜‰

We did have lunch but sadly the quiche and cake ๐Ÿฐ were so good didn't get the chance for a pic ๐Ÿคฃ

After a wander around and an afternoon nap, we ventured back out and straight to the ๐Ÿธ an interesting experience!

Our final stop of the day was .restaurant.antibes
I ordered a 'Young Lady of The Sea' a mixture of mussels, scallops, octopus, prawns in a seafood bisque!!! It was lush.๐Ÿ˜‹
victoria had the most amazing octopus ๐Ÿ™ eggplant and tomato linguine, which looked and tasted fabulous ๐Ÿ‘

This was all washed down with a nice Rosรฉ ๐Ÿท

Off to Cannes today so let's see what delights we can find there...

Quick little interludes yesterday

First the most delicious ice-cream Gelateria Del Porto - Glaces artisanales fabriquรฉes sur place for a rum & raisin and Caramel ice-cream and then over to BEERSHOP06 for an IPA brewed here in Antibes ๐Ÿ‘Š very nice indeed

A fabulous first day in Antibes - South of France after a short flight, train ride and Uber we arrived at our wonderful Air BnB ๐Ÿ‘

After a brief stroll around to get our bearings we stopped off at Nacional Trattoria Antibes for lunch and a wonderful dining experience It was! Veal roast, tuna mayo and anchovies for me and fried squid for .victoria ๐Ÿ‘Š.

The evening soon came around and we went to the most fabulous fish restaurant La Pescheria ๐Ÿ 
We had a tray of oysters, prawns and whelks, also a plate of yellow tail carppcio and sea urchin spread, it was a spectacular array of local seafood ๐Ÿ‘Œ all washed down with a beautiful Chardonnay ๐Ÿ˜‰

Day two beckons, and more culinary delights... Stay tuned to see what this fantastic place has to offer.
