Thomas’s of Foxrock has been the beating heart of Foxrock village for more than four decades, offering top-quality food products, fresh fruit and vegetables, fine wines, and its trademark hampers. Paul Howard (Ross O’Carroll-Kelly) once described it as “the pantry in Buckingham Palace.”

Famed for both Irish and international fare, Thomas’s is committed to sourcing only the highest-quality goods. Fresh fruit and veg are bought daily in Dublin, and the shop places a strong emphasis on supporting local producers, with Irish products well represented on the shelves. Its imported international items add that “something extra special” you won’t find anywhere else.

The shop’s charm lies as much in its personality as its products. Thomas himself, passionate and welcoming, creates an atmosphere customers love. His dedication to service has made both him and his shop integral parts of the community. “There was great support from day one from the locals, and it’s still there to this day.”

Over the years, Thomas’s has even attracted a star-studded clientele, including Elvis, Glen Hansard, and Joe Dolan—who quickly became a close friend of Thomas and a familiar face in the shop. It’s a place brimming with local history and pride – a true gem.

What a gorgeous fair Gifted is. It’s extra special this year with the new Christmas market and rides outside!

It was lovely to catch up with some of our producers & customers who were taking part. If you get to visit, make sure you stop off at the Food Village to see them.

It was fantastic last week to have our first international producers – Tenuta Marmorelle – visit us here in Ireland. We were able to show Mike and Nick their products on display in some of our customer’s shops, like the fabulous Thomas’s of Foxrock.

Tenuta Marmorelle are a UK-based family run business with its origins coming from Puglia Southern Italy. The Carlucci family have curated their portfolio of authentic Italian products by working with the very best producers Italy has to offer.

The range includes pasta sauces; regular, multi-coloured, gluten-free, and egg pasta; antipasti; flatbreads; cannoli; and biscotti.

We’re delighted to now distribute !

Tenuta Marmorelle began as a company importing Extra Virgin Olive Oil from olive groves in Puglia, to the UK in 2014. The oil instantly stood out as a quality product, winning 2 gold stars in the Great Taste Awards and a Gold Medal in the New York International Extra Virgin Oil Awards.

This high quality has been the benchmark for all Tenuta Marmorelle products since. Their ethos is to supply the very best products possible. Due to this, their suppliers tend to be small family businesses, who spend time and care creating their produce.

The Carluccis were looking for an opportunity to grow their business in Ireland and we are delighted to be their partner in achieving that.

We’re excited to share that we’re expanding our horizons! For the first time, we’ll be importing and distributing a carefully curated range of Italian artisan food across Ireland.

This is a big milestone for us — and an exciting new chapter — but it doesn’t change who we are at our core. Since we started Taste the View in 2011, supporting Irish producers has always been, and will always remain, at the heart of our business. We are proud to champion the best of Irish food and drink, and we’ll continue to grow our Irish ranges with the same passion and focus as ever. We aren't shifting away from our current work - just expanding!

Drumanilra Organic Farm is a 300-acre organic family farm run by Liam & Justina Gavin. Their land is divided between the home farm on the shores of Lough Key in Co. Roscommon, and pasture land at Grange just outside Roscommon town.

They keep a large pedigree herd of organic Dexter cattle as well as laying hens. At their home farm they also cultivate 900sqm of polytunnels and produce a wonderful range of organic salads and seasonal vegetables.

This organic produce goes to their own farm shops and restaurants – Honestly Farm Kitchens in Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and Strandhill, Co. Sligo. Their restaurant menus dishes feature ingredients grown or produced on their farms. They also have shops available in each, with a mixture of their own goods, and other local artisan produce.

Liam and Justina moved their young family back from the UK in 2012, to take over Liam’s 200-year-old family farm. They wanted to feed their family with wholesome food grown by their own hands, and to generate a sustainable and independent income for the farm by supplying produce directly to customers.

The Gavins are delighted to avoid complex food and distribution chains, selling only their own fresh produce and Irish artisan produce distributed by Taste the View. Good, healthy food that tastes great is what inspires them!
