Emo Tea Rooms are situated in a beautifully restored Bachelor Wing adjacent to Emo Court sheltered by a walled herbal garden. We can seat up to 70 people inside at any one time within 4 Georgian rooms and a further 30 people outside in our walled garden area. We can provide you with a varied choice in menus and also can cater for Gluten Free, Dairy Free, vegetarian and Vegan guests. We have catered for all types of guest at Emo Tea Rooms such as our President, Taoisigh, serving TDs, tour groups, weddings , christenings , private dinners , Confirmation and First Communions. My staff and I are here to help you in any way we can to make your visit to Emo a treasured moment. Emo is an ideal spot for groups; however please note that advance booking is essential.

Portumna and all of County Galway are rallying behind our team as we prepare to fly the county flag at the National IPB Pride of Place Awards 2026. The Gala Award Ceremony takes place at the Convention Centre Dublin on Saturday 24 October, celebrating the finest examples of community spirit across Ireland.

Representing Galway County Council in the Community Tourism Initiative category, our nomination highlights the extraordinary work done together to promote Portumna’s rich heritage, environment and world-class tourism assets. It is a testament to our “Portumna – This is Us” ethos and honours the Trojan year-round work of volunteers, local businesses, schools and community groups, who showed the judges the true meaning of community connection on adjudication day in August.

Reaching the national finals is already a massive achievement. Whatever happens in Dublin, Portumna is already a winner in our eyes. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

🌿 The grounds and Tea Rooms will be open as usual!

Guided tours of the grounds will be available free of charge on the day.
