Rathbarry Stud has been built on the principle of providing a personal service and a high level

of expertise at a reasonable cost. Never do the Cashman family shy away from this principle and it has undoubtedly helped their farm become a world leader. Rathbarry Stud came into existence in the mid 1930's when Paul Cashman purchased the 159 acre holding at Towermore Lower on the Castlelyons – Conna boundary, in 1935. The arrival of stock on the farm included a thoroughbred stallion named ROYAL POM. At that time, the onus was on the stallion master to take his stallion to various centres one day a week to accommodate the mares. Since that time obviously the onus has changed thanks to the huge progress of transportation and now any mare visiting the stallions, come to the stud farm rather than vice versa. Rathbarry hence expanded to accommodate such mares and is now firmly established as the largest family-owned stud in Europe.

DAN DE CHAMP, by Old Persian, sells for €210,000 at the .ie May Point-to-Point & HIT Sale to Tom Morgan on behalf of Damian Tiernan’s CDL Racing from Michael Murphy’s Redbridge Stables.👏

He was an impressive 4yo Point-to-Point winner at Ballindenisk under Darragh Higgins.

As one of the standout lots of the day, Dan De Champ now becomes Old Persian’s highest priced progeny to go through the sales ring, with only his first crop of 4yo’s this season. There is plenty more to come from this exciting young sire.

Bred by Dan Mangan and sold as a foal to Michael Murphy of Redbridge Stables for €15,000.

More Grade 1 glory for KARGESE (Jeu St Eloi) as she lands the Gr.1 Arkle Novices’ Chase under .

Dominant from the front, she put the boys firmly in their place with a superb display of bold jumping and perfectly judged tactics from the saddle.

It was another outstanding training performance from for owner Kenny Alexander and her breeder Thierry Cypres.

KARGESE is now a back to back Cheltenham Festival winner, a three-time Grade 1 winner, and has never finished outside the prize money in her career.

Congratulations to all her connections and everyone involved with this brilliant mare.🥂
