Proud to be supplying some of the cities best pubs and proud to always brew our beers locally supporting jobs, creativity and local hospitality. Galway is the beating, vibrant heart of the West and deserves quality beers brewed to go hand in hand with the vibrancy of the city. We are the only brewery genuinely making beer in Galway and it's something we will always be proud of.

It's always amazing to work with some of favourite venues in the city including the legendary Róisín Dubh catching an epic gig with a fresh pint of Lush in hand, doesn't get better than that.

We've all had memorable nights drinking great independent beers, listening to epic music and generally enjoying one of Ireland's best pubs. We were honoured when they asked if we could make a special lager for them and their wonderful patrons. We're proud to see our beers pour all over the world. Since 2009 we knew we wanted to give Ireland a reputation beyond a few multinational names. Something always proudly brewed in Galway and sent across the seas to some of the best taps in Europe and beyond.
From Mayo to Madrid we go and visit as many of these great beer evangelists as we can. In the next few weeks we'll be highlighting a few and celebrating them as well as authentic Irish brewing. From Galway to the world

You might have seen him traversing Europe or working away tirelessly in the brewery but we wanted to introduce him properly. He's been an invaluable member of the team for 8 years and is now our fearless head brewer.

We asked him for a few words to describe his journey and brewing philosophy

"My journey into brewing began as a chef, continued through wine and beer, and eventually led me to Galway Bay Brewery, where I’ve been fortunate to brew for the past eight years. Brewing is an extension of myself, shaped by the people, places and ingredients that inspire me. I believe great beer comes from balancing tradition with innovation, always striving to make exceptional, consistent and approachable beers. My ambition is simple: to make the best lagers IPAs and barrel aged beers I can, and to keep learning along the way"

We're pretty chuffed with of our home on the West coast and we feel privileged and inspired every day to brew in such a vibrant part of the island. We're the only Galway brewery which can say "Always made in Galway" and we're very proud of it.

From day one back in 2009 the plan was to offer Galway and beyond a better, more exciting beer scene and 17 years later come rain or shine we work hard to continue that mission.

Great to see plenty of independent Irish stout heading over the bar counter as well this week. Ostara real Irish stout 4.5% pouring all week in the The Dew Drop Galway The Salthouse Oslo Bar, Salthill, Galway

Looks like cans of Disco Paradiso are running a bit low now. We loved trying something new with this and it's been great to see everyone hooning them back in the sun these past few weeks. Built on a rich bed of oat milk that we made ourselves form quality Irish oats. Creamy luscious body with a dense tangy hop finish and some beautiful Aussie Galaxy hops which we don't see very often. Pure hop driven indulgence.

We did a very limited keg run of a second Collab when Sureshot Brewing visited and it's our new favourite summer beer. We wanted to explore the slower more chilled side of brewing and had this dream of a 40 day lagered decoction brewed Vienna lager finished off with a kiss of Centennial and cascade hops for a new world touch.
Vienna lager is actually a lot more popular than people realise and if you've ever had a Brooklyn lager, Sam Adams Boston lager or Modello dark you've had a Vienna lager. This amazing summer style has just enough malt character to be rewarding while being easy drinking due to it's long lagering and slow fermentation with lager yeast. The subtle dry hopping gives the beer some great pine and citrus notes to marry wonderfully with the malts.

The heatwave looks to be coming back this weekend so make this your next summer thirst quencher ⛱️

This is now available in our Galway Bay pubs for a limited time only, only a handful of kegs were made so keep an eye out for them 🍻
