Stout season is back. Nothing like a walk on the sunny, brisk west coast then ducking into a pub for a few creamy Ostara as the sun goes down.

This stout is a blend of some of our imperial stout tricks with a view to of course having that classic drinkability of Irish stout. We've used the complex malt bill of one of our favourite big stouts and worked our favourite elements of that into this classic style. Road tested in the pubs of Galway and enjoyed across Europe.

A huge thank you to Birrificio Wild Raccoon | Udine for hosting us this week for some events and of course a brew day. The team is one of Italy's newer breweries on the scene but we knew from the first time we tried one of their superb IPAs and met their passionate founder Filip that they were going to be one of our favourite new breweries. They are tucked away in Udine up in the Northern corner of Italy at the crossroads of Austria and Slovenia ,a land where b**r and w**e get equal billing in most bars.
We've popped a special hoppy brew in the tank that we can hopefully all share a few of in the not too distant future.

Our Full Sail IPA started out life a long time ago in a local Galway b**r scene that hardly seemed ready for big bold American hops but we stuck to our guns and pushed on with this bold expression of IPA inspired by our favourite California recipes. Thankfully lots of you seemed to be delighted to be getting fresh, modern IPA and the rest is history as they say. We never could have imagined seeing CANS of it on a beach in Genoa if you asked us 13 years ago.
Today it's still our our most popular b**r and has seen off a variety of newcomers to the IPA world but at the end of the day there's always something great about the timeless drinkability of a well made West Coast IPA

Location: Galway and general West Coast/Connacht area.

Position Type: Full-Time (Hybrid Split: 2–3 Days Production / 2 Days Sales)

The Role

This unique position blends brewery operations with commercial relationship-building. You will spend 2–3 days a week at the brewery supporting our production team and 2 days on the road representing Galway Bay Brewery to trade partners, venues, and off-licenses across the Connacht region. If you are looking for an exciting role within the craft b**r industry with a nice variety of day-to-day tasks then this is the role for you. Variety is the spice of life!

Brewery work includes but not limited to Assist the brewing team with day-to-day cellaring, packaging (canning/kegging), and vessel sanitation (CIP).

Help maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and organisation within the facility.

Support inventory checks, malt handling, and raw material logistics.

What We’re Looking For

Craft B**r Passion: A genuine interest in quality b**r, brewing process, and the Irish craft beverage industry.

Versatility & Drive: Ability to seamlessly pivot between hands-on physical brewery work and professional customer-facing sales roles.

Communication & Sales Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, friendly approach to building customer relationships. A good knowledge of the West of Ireland is a major plus

Physical Fitness: Capability to handle manual labor typical of brewery operations (moving kegs, lifting bags of grain etc)

Requirements:

Full, Irish/EU Driving License (essential for sales travel) but a van will be provided by the brewery.

Previous experience in beverage sales/hospitality is highly desirable.
Salary – Competitive and based on experience

In lots of ways Cascade is the OG of this whole craft b**r thing we have going on here. It was the hop that made everyone stand up and realise there was more to life than bland commercial la**rs. In the 1980s this revolutionary hop sparked the craft b**r revolution in California and when we were offered some very special Estate Grown lots by Crosby Hops we jumped at the chance to give them a whirl (pool). Estate grown are an amplified version of this classic hop, full of punchy grapefruit and that classic West coast flavour. Best drunk cold and fresh.

The lovely folks from This Is How in Piteå, Sweden gave us a help hand with this. They have been brewing some great IPAs over in Sweden and it was nice to have their support on this one.

Available from today in retailers and pubs.

This past weekend we had an epic time pouring b**rs at Putoooja festival in Vilnius. Turned out the friendly guys pouring beside us were from an Atlantic island even smaller than our own. They had trekked down from the Faroe islands from OY and Mikkeller Tórshavn. It's a small world we declared as they had just this week put on a keg of our Rán our Irish stout in their bar all the way up in the North NORTH Atlantic.

A huge thank you to Putoooja for taking such good care of us over the weekend. The team brought together brewers from all over the world to beautiful Vilnius for one huge event celebrating the greatness of modern independent brewing. It's always wonderful for us to swap b**rs, ideas and thoughts with some of the best breweries from the 4 corners of the world. We loved pouring with everyone but special shout out to our neighbours Sebastian Sauer and our Atlantic island brothers OY Mikkeller Tórshavn

Proud to be supplying some of the cities best pubs and proud to always brew our b**rs locally supporting jobs, creativity and local hospitality. Galway is the beating, vibrant heart of the West and deserves quality b**rs brewed to go hand in hand with the vibrancy of the city. We are the only brewery genuinely making b**r in Galway and it's something we will always be proud of.

It's always amazing to work with some of favourite venues in the city including the legendary Róisín Dubh catching an epic gig with a fresh pint of Lush in hand, doesn't get better than that.
