A BIG thank you to all our members who took part in Blas na Bealtaine, and to the Mayor of Galway, Cllr Mike Cubbard, for officially launching the festival.

Micil Distillery Cocktail Competition 🍸

Join us at M.Fitzgerald's Bar
Galway City at 6pm on Wednesday, 20th May for the finals of our Micil Cocktail Competition, celebrating the creativity of the Galway cocktail scene and the bartenders that make it world class.

As part of Blas na Gaillimhe Food Festival 2026, we’re inviting you to taste some of the best cocktails Galway has to offer, as the finalists go head-to-head, take on our challenges and flex their skills in a bid to be crowned champion.

Expect a lively atmosphere, a special Micil cocktail menu and some seriously good finger food.

This is a chance to see Galway’s top bartenders in action while enjoying great drinks and great craic.

Come for the competition, stay for the cocktails.

Entry is €5 on the door, with all proceeds going to a local charity.

A Blas na Bealtaine Evening of Portuguese Food & Wine at Alma Restaurant

This May, during the Blas na Bealtaine food festival, Alma Restaurant will host a night of food and wine on a journey through the Portuguese landscape.

From north to south, three dishes that are symbols of our traditional gastronomy, transmitted from generation to generation over the centuries, paired with three wines that reflect the different terroir from each region.

Mariana de Moraes, wine specialist from our prime supplier will talk about the uniqueness of Portuguese wines and the details of each wine served during the event, along with João (half of Alma and the heart behind the stove) who will chat about the dishes and the tradition of food in the Portuguese culture.
