🍓 STRAWBERRY PRESERVE — IT’S NOT JUST FOR BREAD! 🍓

We all love a bit of strawberry preserve on toast… but there’s so much more you can do with it! 👇

🍓 Cheesecake – swirl it through the topping or drizzle it over the top.

🍓 Pancakes & waffles – warm a spoonful and pour it over with some fresh strawberries and cream.

🍓 Ice cream – a little strawberry preserve warmed up makes a gorgeous sauce.

🍓 Yoghurt & granola – layer it into a breakfast pot for an easy fruity treat.

🍓 Victoria sponge – obviously! A good layer of strawberry preserve and cream is hard to beat.

🍓 Strawberry Eton Mess – fold it through the strawberries, meringue and cream.

🍓 Chocolate brownies – add a little on top while they’re still warm. 🍫🍓

🍓 Cheese boards – yes, really! Try it with a creamy Brie, Camembert or a good mature cheese.

🍓 Cocktails & desserts – a spoonful can add a lovely strawberry hit to all sorts of drinks and puddings.

And of course… there’s always the toast. 😋

🧀 A little bit of cheese, a lot of good things…

Sometimes the simplest combinations are the best.

A good selection of cheeses, crusty bread, crackers, grapes, pickles and, of course, a few jars of Filligans on the table.

Our Onion Marmalade, Tomato Kasundi, Peach & Cardamom Chutney and Spiced Apricot Chutney all bring something different to the board — sweet, savoury, fruity, spiced and a little bit of heat.

We make our chutneys and preserves to be enjoyed in all sorts of ways, but we have to admit… with a really good piece of cheese, they’re pretty hard to beat. 🧀

And looking at this board, I’m not sure where I’d start! 😋

🌿 Chutney Isn’t Just for Cheese… 🌿

Yes, it’s fantastic on a cheeseboard… but that’s only the beginning!

One of the questions we were asked most at the Clonmany Show was:

“What do you do with Tomato Kasundi Chutney?”

Here are just a few of our favourite ideas:

🥔 Spiced Potatoes – Boil baby potatoes, slice them while still warm, stir through a couple of tablespoons of Tomato Kasundi Chutney and finish with fresh coriander. An easy side dish packed with flavour.

🍚 Flavour Your Rice – Mix a spoonful or two through warm rice to add a delicious aromatic twist. Perfect with curries.

🍛 Take Your Curry Up a Level – Stir a spoonful into your homemade curry while it’s cooking for extra richness, spice and depth of flavour.

🥪 Quick Coronation-Style Chicken – Mix with mayonnaise and cooked chicken for a delicious sandwich or baked potato filling.

Following a great day at the Mary from Dungloe Food & Drink Fair, we were chatting with one of our lovely customers about our Filligans Chilli Jam.

She told us she stirs a spoonful into her spaghetti bolognese while it’s simmering…

So we had to try it ourselves.

Oh my goodness… she was absolutely right! 🤩

It adds a gentle warmth, a touch of sweetness, and an incredible depth of flavour that takes a homemade Bolognese to the next level.
