GREAT TASTE 2026 ⭐️⭐️

Huge win for us this weeke when we opened an email to find out that our Saltrock Farmhouse Butter had gotten TWO STARS in the Great Taste Awards 2026!!

Huge thank you to and to the wonderful judges who gave such incredible feedback. This is a massive honour and something that felt like a pipe dream only a couple of years ago!

About Last Night….

Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming 8 incredible women into our home to host them for our first ever supper (club?).

Today we feel so incredibly lucky to have shared the table with them and with the amazing Lorraine of .ie who had us glued to her every word as she shared the stories of the wonderful women often forgotten in Irish mythology. From Brigit to Banba, we heard of the strength, the power, the resilience and the beauty of the women who were woven into the very fabric of this island. Leaders, protectors, creators … forces of nature in their own right.

From oysters to wild venison, celeriac soup to Samuel Allen’s incredible pickled poached pears, .saltrock put out 6 simple but stunning courses. A beautiful celebration of seasonal Irish food.

We welcomed everyone with a Sloe-secco (thank you to our neighbours Lorna and David for the Sloe Gin made from Sloes on the lane), and had elderflower and elderberry fizz throughout.

The whole evening felt special. We’re incredibly proud and deeply grateful to the women who trusted us with their Valentine’s evening.

We’re swapping the workshop table for a supper table ✨

As part of our Simple Spread series, Saltrock Dairy is hosting a Galentine’s Supper a night built around good food, shared plates and the kind of conversation that lingers long after the candles burn down.

This isn’t a class. It’s a gathering.

An evening of local produce and simple food, lovingly cooked by Catherine, shared around the table here at Saltrock. Expect butter (obviously), seasonal dishes, and flavours that speak for themselves.

We’ll be joined by Lorraine from .ie, who’ll bring folklore, stories and a few yarns to weave through the night — grounding us in place, tradition and the quiet magic of coming together.

We’d love you to come solo or at most in pairs — it’s not a couple-focused event. Come meet new people, share stories and get to know one another around the table.

It’s BYOB, so bring a bottle you love and we’ll take care of the rest.

And that’s a wrap on Brigit and Imbolc for 2026!

She’s the goddess of spring, fire and fertility — and patron of dairy farmers/workers! This year she brought us a full moon, a bright day of sunshine and even spared us the rain!! She’s some woman for one woman!

We were so proud to be included in Brigit’s Table at the Festival in Temple Bar a day full amazing energy!

A heartfelt thank you to and for bringing it all together and for inviting us to be part of something so special with a selection of amazing producers again this year!
