“ Harvest starts tomorrow. 27 August, the earliest in our records.

We weren’t expecting this. After weeks of drought the vines had almost stopped; then a few days of rain, and on some parcels the berries took up water fast. Once that starts, every day of waiting costs you concentration. We tasted, and we made the call.

For scale: our previous earliest was 2003, the famous heat year, and even then we didn’t pick until 4 September. Tomorrow is a week ahead of that.

A highly rated, accessible Super Tuscan grounded in the heritage of the estate with history going back to the 14th century.

Subtle notes of dried herbs, gentle spice and a touch of graphite add complexity.The palate is vibrant and well structured, combining Sangiovese freshness with the depth of the Cabernet varieties.
