From the Garden 🪏 Today is harvest day! Will, Arthur & our small team of volunteers are busy hand picking all of the seasonal garden bounty. The Piggery our farm stall will be open (with an exciting new edition) Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm and stocked full of goodness! We’ll also have our pasture raised lamb and in the freezer pork & Regan Organic Farm have just dropped off a load of their incredible frozen whole chickens.

September so far has been a verrry busy month! New water conservation & wildlife pond dug, foundations for something exciting going up outside the Piggery, new shelves in the shop that will cut our labour down by hours each weekend!!! TB test passed for our cattle and Will has been really busy as it’s peak growing season in the gardens. Please keep popping into the Piggery and stocking up, even though the weather is turning cooler it really means so much to us 🤗 open Saturdays & Sundays 10am-5pm. X

A year in flowers without planting a single seed in the Spring. I wasn’t sure flowers were going to feature this year with a small baby and the gazillion other farm jobs. But my perennial garden (and some self seeded surprises) pulled out all stops and we have had fresh flowers most weekends of the season. A huge thank you to Will & Arthur for keeping the weeds from taking over and to all the wonderful flower customers 🌸 my fresh flower season has come to an early end having killed off all the dahlias last winter..oops. We will have some dried bunches in the farm stall and fresh eucalyptus coming soon! X Larissa

Anyone else feel like Summer was a blur of sunshine filled days and that all of a sudden the Autumn switch has been flipped? This time of year is our most prolific for veg before the temperature drops. We have really really appreciated every busy weekend and all the support as it makes the hard work of farming so worthwhile 💛 if you are around this weekend pop in as we’ll have a huge amount of veg, our fresh lamb & the usual treats!

Hello a little farm update! We are now fully in the time of plenty 🥦 which often coincides with holidays and people going away so if you are around we truly appreciate everyone popping in and picking up some chemical free veg on the weekend. Every vegetable was planned last autumn, seeded in the Autumn or Spring, nurtured through torrential rain & wind and now having its time in the sun. We use no heavy machinery-everything is done by hand by Will (our green fingered, always cheerful head gardener), Arthur and the volunteers we take on during the growing season. It’s a labour of love 💚
We are having to water like mad now to keep things alive but it’s also such a credit to no-dig gardening how much the soil retains the moisture. We sadly said goodbye to two of our pigs and we’ll have our pasture raised pork back in stock soon. Back open Saturday & Sunday🌻 see you on the weekend 💛

Unfortunately the ForestSchool leader who was going to be taking on this project has had to pull out due to her health so we are back to looking for a Forest School teacher! Its been another busy week on the farm! It’s the beginning of the season of plenty and we have lots more variety in the shop. It wouldn’t be a growing season without a glut and this week it’s beautiful rainbow beetroots 🫜 tomorrow is our big harvest day and the farm stall will be fully stocked and open Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm.

It’s almost the time of Summer abundance! Pop into the Piggery this weekend and pick up some of our chemical free fresh veggies, flowers & lamb. We’ll have more of our pork in soon. It’s been the most gloriously sunny week and everything has been given a huge burst of life. We started off the week attending the very inspiring Farming For Nature festival where we got to chat all things sustainable farming. And then straight back into our first organic conversion inspection (hopefully we did all the paperwork correctly 😅) and harvesting and getting everything ready for the weekend. Hopefully see you all tomorrow & Sunday.
