Today is Aniket’s last day at New Kid. After 4 years of a Wild Atlantic Adventure, he is homeward bound ! Aniket worked in The Counter and New Kid part time while completing his studies at ATU. The then came to New Kid full time from Jan 2025. We will miss his craic, dance moves, fabulous food and his dedication to the job .

We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Production Assistant (20-30 hours per week) to join our crew ☕️

What you’ll be doing:
Packing & dispatch, supporting production, keeping the roastery running smoothly, helping with quality checks, jumping in at events, and generally getting stuck into day-to-day operations.

Who you are:
Reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and keen to learn. You don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you’re comfortable with basic computer tasks, and you’re always up for a laugh. Coffee experience is a nice bonus—but not essential.

What you’ll get:
Real hands-on experience in specialty coffee, full training, and a supportive, values-led team that’s all about growing together.

Here”s some photos from our new Home Espresso Workshop! This was our 3rd workshop this year. Our next one on 28th of March is sold out but fear not - a new date has been added - 23rd May.

We invite you to bring your own home espresso machine along to this very hands-on and interactive course. You’ll learn how to set it up, calibrate it just right, and head home feeling confident in both your machine and your barista skills.

We keep our group small—just 6 participants—so you get plenty of personal attention and hands-on time to make the most of your workshop experience.

Here’s what we’ll be diving into during the workshop:

Finding your perfect coffee match – We’ll guide you through choosing the right beans for your taste (with a fun coffee-tasting session included!).

Setting up your home espresso machine - how to set it up and calibrate it just right for delicious results at home.

Tuning the strength of your brew – Discover how to adjust your coffee to suit your taste.

Mastering the grind – Learn how to dial in the perfect grind size to bring out the best flavours in every shot.

Texturing silky smooth milk – Whether it’s a flat white, latte, or cappuccino, we’ll show you how to get that café-quality milk texture at home.

Keeping your machine happy – Learn easy tips for cleaning and maintaining your espresso machine so it stays in top shape.

The workshop price of €80 includes all the coffee that you can drink, some fine pastries from Blistered Bread and 250g bag of New Kid Coffee to take home with you!

Amazing news from Europe’s biggest mead competition - Mead Madness Cup 2026 🍯🏆
Our MEADNIGHT DRAKKAR – Coffee Mead (created in collaboration with New Kid Coffee) has won a Bronze Medal in the Metheglin category (herb/spiced infused mead).

Gold went to the USA, silver to Mexico — and Donegal, Ireland on the podium 🥉🌍 Proud to represent Donegal as its first meadery :)

Even better news — Thomas, our production manager, won GOLD in the home experimental category with a semi-sweet mead 👀 flavour still secret… but maybe not for long 😉
