A Berthet Rayne “Ruby” 2023 Cairanne Red €39.95

Produced from 100 year old vineyards.

The nose reveals expressive notes of ripe black fruits reminiscent of wild blackberries, candied plums, and black cherries. Generous in expression, this Rubis cuvée is also precise in its aromatic elegance: sweet spices, nutmeg, wilted roses, cocoa powder, and walnut husks are among the aromas that form a complex and characterful whole.

The palate does not disappoint, it is voluble and rich, complete and smooth. Combined with a welcome freshness, with docile but still slightly tonic tannins, the whole creates a robust and stable structure.

Hors Normes is produced in Bué by our Sancerre producer, Gérard Millet. The grapes are selected from declassified Sancerre vineyards. Vibrant, intense notes of zesty citrus- combined with fresh green apple, pear and fresh notes of aromatic herbs. It is light to medium-bodied, racy acidity, crisp and refreshing mouthfeel.
Mineral. The finish is clean, dry, and zesty. Limited production on offer for €18.95 (from €21.95).
