May 13th marks the first publication date of the definition of a cocktail in 1806.

It also means everyone has to be extra nice to us today 💜

In 1983, a model asked London bartender Dick Bradsell to make her something to "wake me up and f #$k me up".

It was originally known as the Vodka Espresso before being renamed the Espresso Martini.

Bradsell (also credited for inventing the Bramble) claims the model was world class and it's widely rumoured to have been Kate Moss. This has never been confirmed. Bradsell loved the mystery that came with the unrevealed identity - so much so that he took it to his grave.

The 3 coffee beans used to garnish an Espresso Martini comes from the traditional Sambuca serving in Italy and represent health, wealth and happiness.

I LOVE a good Espresso Martini - it's my go to after dinner cocktail or when I'm just out for one or two. Chilled, not too sweet, plenty of foam and garnished with all 3 blessings 😅🤌
