The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at the Troy Meats facility in Tyrrellspass. This position oversees day-to-day production operations, including planning and scheduling, supervising production teams, and ensuring that output meets quality, safety, yield reporting KPI's, and regulatory standards. The Production Manager will coordinate raw material flow, monitor equipment performance, and work closely with quality assurance to maintain BRC, Bord Bia, and DAFM requirements. Responsibilities include managing staffing levels, training team members, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and tracking key performance indicators such as yield, efficiency, and waste. The role also involves collaborating with procurement, logistics, and management to support customer orders, export requirements, and company growth objectives.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in production or operations management within food processing or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory standards (e.g., BRC, Bord Bia, DAFM) and the ability to apply these in day-to-day operations.
Skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and performance management, with a focus on coaching, communication, and fair, inclusive practices.
Competence in production planning, workflow optimization, and problem-solving to drive efficiency, yield, and cost control.
Ability to work on-site in Tyrrellspass and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as quality, logistics, and senior management.
Comfort with using production data, KPIs, and basic computer systems to monitor performance and prepare reports.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a food processing environment and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Relevant qualification in food science, engineering, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in beef processing is a requirement.
