C.L.G. Cill Chomáin was honoured to celebrate a truly historic and memorable evening in our club on Wednesday, 30th September, when we welcomed All-Ireland winners Kobe McDonald and Darren McHale home with the Sam Maguire Cup.
For a few special hours, our members, supporters and the wider community had the opportunity to see and share in the magic of the Sam Maguire. It was a wonderful occasion for young and old alike, and one that will be remembered for many years to come. Kobe and Darren are fantastic ambassadors for our county and we could not be prouder of them and of Mayo's team achievements. It was a tremendous honour to have them, and the Sam Maguire Cup, in our club.
A sincere thank you to Mayo GAA Vice Chairman Michael Diskin for his help in coordinating this special visit, and to Assistant Treasurer Sinéad McLoughlin for her invaluable assistance and support throughout the event.
We are deeply grateful to all the scheme workers and supervisors who prepared the grounds and with stewarding on the evening. Your dedication and hard work ensured everything ran smoothly. A special word of thanks to the ladies who decorated the hall for the event. The room looked fantastic and your hard work helped make the evening extra special. Thank you!
Thank you also to our photographers, Ryan Gallagher and Tom Reilly, for capturing moments that will be treasured for years to come. We extend our appreciation to everyone who helped with refreshments, especially those who generously provided delicious home baking, and to Calpin's Country Fryer for their support.
Most importantly, we would like to thank our players, coaches, parents, members and the wider community. The fantastic turnout, warm welcome and community spirit on display made the evening truly special. It was heartening to see so many people come together to celebrate this remarkable achievement and create memories that will last a lifetime.
To everyone who played a part, no matter how big or small, we offer our heartfelt thanks.
