We’re absolutely delighted to have a Robert Mondavi representative joining us at the WineOnline.ie Summer Wine Festival on June 11th at The Morehampton, Donnybrook, to pour the wines and chat all things Mondavi on the night. It’s a brilliant opportunity to taste some truly iconic California wines and hear the stories behind them first-hand.
Few names in the wine world carry as much weight as Robert Mondavi. When he founded his Napa Valley winery in 1966, he did so with a bold vision: to prove that California could produce wines worthy of standing alongside the finest in the world. He chose the legendary Over the decades that followed he helped put Napa on the map.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect to try on the evening 👇
🍷 Napa Valley Pinot Noir — Sourced from the cool, fog-swept hills of Carneros, this is a beautifully elegant Pinot with ripe red cherry, violet and Asian spice on the nose, and a silky, medium-bodied palate with a lovely lingering finish.
The Estates Chardonnay — A classic California Chardonnay with serious credentials (92pts Wine Spectator, 93pts Wine Enthusiast). Sourced from Carneros and Stags Leap District, it’s rich and creamy with ripe pear, apple and toasted hazelnut, all balanced by a fresh, elegant finish.
🍷 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 — Noble, concentrated and deeply satisfying. Concentrated dark fruit, lovely oak, and polished tannins that build to a long, harmonious finish. A genuine Napa classic.
🍇 Vint Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 — From an exceptional Napa vintage, this is a beautifully approachable Cab with juicy red berry, notes of vanilla and toasted spice, and plush, polished tannins. Great balance, great drinkability.
