Based in County Sligo, North West of Ireland, we are a small family run farm breeding showjumpers from proven damlines. Our broodmares have been carefully selected from top performance families in Ireland and continental Europe. These are then bred to suitable performance stallions from successful damlines to breed potential showjumpers of high genetic merit.

✨GIRL SQUAD✨

Sights & sounds when moving the fillies to the middle part of our farm (‘Gethins’) recently. Ages range from one to twenty seven!

They are:
• Alanna (chestnut) - 27 year old pony by Northern Asset xx out of a Welsh Mountain pony
•SRF Radio Caroline QF (steel grey) - 3 year old by Cornet Obolensky out of April Moon (Quinar Z x Landwind)
• Brice Waldstar Z (darker bay with white on face) - 2 year old by Bacardi VDL out of Fara van de Maltahoeve (Orlando x Skippy II)
• Maggie QF (darker bay without white on face) - 1 year old by Pegase van’t Ruytershof out of Gena QF (Ganesh Hero Z x Touchdown)
• Pippa Of Eden QF (lighter bay with stripe) - 1 year old by Contagio Z out of Apple (Diamant de Semilly x Carnute)

An exciting bunch to look forward to, for both breeding and sport (except Alanna who is solely on granny duties). 🍀

Introducing foal number 4!

On Wednesday morning, Cassitta SR Z (Cassiano x Cash) gave birth to a lovely big c**t by Pegase van't Ruytershof, thanks to the fast response and helping hand of vet Paul Barnes. 🙏 Thankfully mother and son are doing great. 🍀

This c**t is a half-brother to the talented home bred 7-year-old Ziggy QF W, who had a great run of form in Spain over the past year with Celine Aragón, before recently moving to his US-based owner, Angel Karolyi. Cassitta's dam, Oslo, is a half-sister to Quality Time TN.

Bred in partnership with Alan Waldman - Waldman Horses, this boy will move to his new co-owner Micheal Mannion (Ballybride Stables) 🇮🇪 once weaned at the end of the year. 🤝

Our final mare to foal will be Pina Colada Hero Z (Perigueux x Kassander van't Rossakker), pregnant to Akarad Hero Z, expected in the first week of July. 🤞

Episode 14 of the Army Equitation School Centenary Series features Lieutenant Colonel Tom Freyne and Lieutenant Colonel Sharon Crean.

In this concluding episode, Lt. Col. Freyne reflects on his career as a riding officer, Chief Instructor and Officer Commanding of the Army Equitation School, while Lt. Col. Crean shares her own journey through the Defence Forces and her vision for the Equitation School's future as it enters its centenary year.

Through two separate interviews, they offer perspectives on the history, values and enduring mission of the Army Equitation School, while reflecting on the role it continues to play in promoting the Irish horse at home and abroad.

As this series concludes, we want to thank everyone who contributed their time, stories and memories, and everyone who followed and supported this project as part of the Army Equitation School's centenary celebrations.

‘Mac’ has found himself a new owner. 🤝

By Pegase van’t Ruytershof out of Gena QF (Ganesh Hero Z x Touchdown), this cheeky boy will move to his new owners in Ireland once weaned towards the end of the year.

Episode 13 of the Army Equitation School Centenary Series features Commandant Geoff Curran.

As Chief Instructor of the Army Equitation School and one of the driving forces behind the Centenary Series, Comdt. Curran reflects on his journey from applying for the School twice before being accepted, to enjoying international success in both eventing and show jumping, representing Ireland at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Nations Cups.

The episode explores some of the horses that shaped his career, the qualities he looks for in horses, and his insights into the pony sector through watching his own children participate in the sport.

A lovely c**t by Drummer 2000 TN Z out of ‘Twinkle’ {Conthaletta} (Conthargos x Chacco Blue x Baloubet du Rouet), making him a full brother to our yearling c**t, Nova Eden QF.

Luna is US-bound ✈️ 🇺🇸

Four-year-old ‘Luna’ has arrived in the Netherlands, where she will spend a short period before flying on to her new home in the USA.

Thank you to Micheal Mannion (Ballybride Stables) for the positive work with Luna, both this year and last year. 🙏

Are you on the lookout for something specific? 🔍

This is often a time of year when I am in more regular contact with a lot of fellow breeders, whether on the phone, at shows, or out on their farms to view horses (just like this morning 📸).

Many breeders prefer to sell their horses privately when possible, meaning several of their horses are never listed for sale publicly. I keep a note of what people have told me they are currently looking for, and their specific requirements, so that I can connect them with the relevant breeders/horses when something suitable comes along.

So, if you are on the lookout for something, from broodmares and foals, right through to horses under saddle, it is always worth flagging it with me so that I can keep you in the loop on what comes available privately. Even a simple WhatsApp message will suffice. 📲
