Happy Heritage Day 🇿🇦
For us, heritage is something you can taste.
It’s the food you grew up with, the dishes that bring back memories, the recipes passed from one generation to the next — and the flavours that can make somewhere far away feel a little more like home.
Bunny Chow, Bobotie, Vetkoek, Boerewors, Milktart, Malva Pudding… these aren’t just dishes on our menu. They’re part of a culture, a history, and for us, part of the story of Lekker too.
South African food tells so many stories. Different regions, different cultures, different traditions — all sharing the same table.
For Ashika, it’s the food she grew up with in South Africa. The flavours, the memories, the family dishes, and the food that instantly feels like home.
For Julien, it’s been about discovering that food, learning the stories behind it, and now helping to cook and share it here in Ireland.
Today, we’re celebrating a little bit of that heritage through the food we love to cook and share. 🇿🇦❤️
