We set out to create something more than just a beer; we wanted to create an experience. A community, if you will, which brings people together and encourages them to create and contribute, to learn and enjoy.

We are four life long friends and four brothers who have grown up living across four continents. We seek out the challenge of new experiences and adventure matched only by the familiar of home, family, friends and good banter.

Our followers are the discerning few who like to go off the beaten track in search of unique experiences. Canvas' products respond to their desire for quality and craft, while the Canvas Community provides them with a platform to share their adventures and the unique experiences in life.

"Brewing the Past in the Present"

This clip is from the brewday, was a discussion with on how using a Quern to grind the heritage malt will affect the filtration and flavour for this recreation of a 16th century recipe from Dublin Castle.

will give a talk, 7pm on Saturday 21st Feb to reflect on the experience of recreating this 16th century beer in a farmhouse brewery using Irish grown heritage grain and hops, malted on site.

The aim is to explore what the process reveals about flavour, craft skill, sustainability and how historical research and in situ preservation of genetic material can continue to inform brewing in present.

The session will conclude with a guided tasting that allows audiences to connect to history and this research findings.
