We love when customers bring in their favourite cookbooks to shop from — there’s something really special about sourcing fresh, quality ingredients to bring a beloved old recipe back to life.

First published in 1982 by the legendary Cranks restaurant chain, it helped introduce a whole generation to wholesome, flavourful plant-based food long before it was fashionable.
A well-loved copy like this one, with its crinkled cover and yellowed pages, tells its own story — of kitchens steamed up with soups, of handwritten notes in margins, of recipes made and remade until they became second nature.

Come in with your dog-eared pages and we’ll help you find everything you need. On exactly the right quantities even!

Anyone have anything older that they regularly use? I should have taken a picture of a recipe to share!

I have been inspired by Karen and have got back in to soaking …. it all!
Noticing major improvements and loving the reduced cooking times.
Just have to remember to not forget about them and change the water daily if plans change….
I recommend signing up to their newsletter.

Soaking grains, legumes, seeds, and nuts neutralises phytic acid and other antinutrients that block the absorption of minerals like iron, zinc, and calcium.
It also breaks down enzyme inhibitors, making them easier to digest and reducing bloating or gas.
The soaking process begins germination, which increases nutrient availability — particularly B vitamins and vitamin C. It can also shorten cooking times for grains and legumes, saving energy.
Overall, it’s a simple step that makes these foods significantly more nourishing and gentle on the gut especially for those who are healing their guts and have any digestive issues.
It’s amazing what a difference a change in process of preparing the exact same food can make.
Ps. We had a fresh delivery of deliciousness from HTC yesterday come and get it!!

After the success of the last swaps - this time we are going bigger and better with this SATURDAY.
Come join us, bring something fabulous that no longer serves you and pick up a gem.
Keep clothes circulating, we all have those items we love but don’t fit our style or shape anymore but could be someone’s new favourite ✨
Kate’s has loads left from the last swaps so just bring a few really good pieces.
Clean, no stains 🫟- wearable.
Shoes and accessories too.
We aren’t valuing or straight swapping, keeping it casual and hope that everyone finds something great whilst having fun and redirecting from waste streams.

elevate your space (and mood) with silky-soft organic cotton from

better for your home, better for you:
no pesticides, no harsh residues, just pure comfort and a lighter footprint 🌍

I try and keep our towels to a minimum, only replacing when I really have to (I’m talking every 10+ years) and buying the best I can to ensure they do last.
No one likes opening the airing cupboard to an avalanche 😊
Any that are really past it get cut down to be used as ‘unpaper’ towels or rags.
We have a tote bag of them to use for spills and rough jobs both at home and in the shop.
As they are so ancient they are incredibly absorbent!

UpCircle 💫 probably one of the most requested brands over the last couple of years.
We have added to the selection, including a few refills.
So far the team are loving the
💦Peptide Serum
+ Hair Serum (great for curls & those that style with heat)
+ body scrub
+ shampoo & conditioner (fab on treated or thirsty hair)
Lots still to try….

Still soup weather 🌧️ nothing like it to warm you from the inside out!
Roasting the veg first takes it to the next level but not essential.
Adding a few fancy bits on top to use them up and add some extra nutritional value.

I know social media can be a hole but I love it for ‘din-spiration’
are a few favourites if you don’t know what to make for dinner!
