Shannonvalley Supernova coming 2nd today at Athlone Show Athlone Agri Show

She was foot perfect, the judges commented on how sweet she is, and the youngest in the class!

This weekend we planted trees in a corner and along the fence line of a new paddock.

I wanted to plant native trees, but also did some green and copper beech (they just fit the bill for horse fields so nicely!)

So in the end we planted:

6 alder - native, good for damper spots
8 beech - fast growing, good shelter belt trees
2 Scot Pines - native, conifers for a bit of variety
1 oak tree - native (away from the field - acorns can be toxic to horses)

We also dotted some small hawthorn trees (native) around for that wonderful white in May and planted two hazel trees (native).

Who needs the gym?

Big thanks to who have been so helpful and provided such beautiful, healthy trees exactly on time for our planting day!

Nova on a sunny Autumn day, looking good heading into winter. Getting fluffier by the day, still holding her shine. I think I'll start taping her tail up to avoid stain removal obsession next year 😆

If anyone has any tips please share!
