Sissi Red apples from North Co.Dublin, and organic apples from local grower Richard Galvin of Clashganny Orchard, with more growers lined up for the coming weeks, to ensure we will have Irish apples available well into 2027๐ŸŒฑBuying Irish apples means enjoying fruit at its seasonal best while supporting local growers, strengthening our local economy and reducing food miles. This week, weโ€™re delighted to celebrate two very special milestones at ArdkeenQFS. Karen Morrissey and Marian Walsh have both marked an incredible 25 years of working with us.๐ŸŽ‰ We feel exceptionally lucky to have such loyal, dedicated and lovely colleagues as part of our team.
We only managed to capture Karen with Val during her presentation, as Marian was feeling a little camera-shy! A huge congratulations to Karen and Marian on this wonderful milestone. Weโ€™re so lucky to have you both! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ‘ Mrs Halleyโ€™s Victoria plums are now in store! This is one of our favourite times of year, when Irish fruit and vegetables come into season and our shelves begin to fill with the very best of the summer harvest.
Weโ€™re incredibly lucky to have wonderful local growers like Mairead Halley, who has supplied Ardkeen with beautiful, succulent fruit from her smallholding just across the river in Newrath, Waterford, for many years. Picked ripe and delivered daily, her fruit travels from tree to store in around 15 minutes. It doesnโ€™t get much fresher or more local than that!
Victoria plums are wonderfully juicy and sweet, with tender golden flesh. Enjoy them just as they are, or use them in tarts, crumbles, jams and chutneys.

ํ™˜์˜ํ•ฉ๋‹ˆ๋‹ค ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช We were proud to welcome Bord Bia - Irish Food Board and a visiting delegation from South Korea to Ardkeen Quality Food Store as the first stop on their Irish food and beef itinerary. As an independepent, family run store, it was a privilege to share our story, how we choose our products, champion quality and provenance, build relationships with Irish producers, and offer something different within Irish retail. The visit was a wonderful opportunity to showcase not only Irish beef, but the wider story of Irish artisan food across our store.
We finished with a tasting designed to give our guests โ€œa taste of all Irelandโ€, from our made-in-store Irish brown soda bread and Gourmet Irish butter to Goatsbridge trout, Irish Hereford roast beef, Knockanore smoked cheddar, Burren Smokehouse smoked salmon, Mellaโ€™s fudge and Irish apple juice from The Apple Farm.
