🏅 SETU Industry Sponsored Awards Day 🏅
On Friday, we had the pleasure of attending the annual South East Technological University Industry Sponsored Student Awards Day - always a highlight in our calendar.
For the past 11 years, we’ve been proud sponsors of the Dawn Meats Food Science & Innovation Award. This award recognises the outstanding work of final-year BSc (Hons) Food Science & Innovation students, who develop an innovative food product from concept through to formulation, packaging, and marketing before presenting to industry and the SETU community.
A special thanks to Elaine Duggan, who plays a key role in organising the awards. As she shared on the day: “Dawn Meats continued sponsorship helps us acknowledge outstanding student achievement in this project and gives students valuable recognition and encouragement, helping them see the real-world impact of their hard work. The award strengthens their professional confidence and employability for their future careers.”
👏 Congratulations to this year’s outstanding winners:
🥇 Eva Morrissey – GloZen Matcha, a blueberry matcha enriched with antioxidants and collagen to support skin, hair, nail and joint health
🥈 Ciara Grobb – Lunara, a functional chocolate designed to help alleviate symptoms associated with women’s hormonal conditions
🥉 Orlagh Dunphy – Simply Celebrate, a gluten-free cake mix tailored for children’s parties for coeliac families
Each project demonstrated creativity, purpose, and a strong understanding of consumer needs.
Our Group Development Manager, Paul Nolan, also presented an award to the Great Agri-Food Debate 2026 SETU team in recognition of their hard work.
It was an inspiring afternoon and a fantastic showcase of emerging talent. The future of agriculture, food science, and business is in very capable hands. 👏
