Fun baking experience in Westport!

Karolina and Shannon from our Front Office team spent a blissful morning making Irish soda bread with Mary & Carmel

Their verdict? Absolutely DELICIOUS! ❤❤

Based in Westport, The Irish Soda Bread Way offers the unique opportunity to bake brown soda bread and white soda scones the traditional Irish way. We're incredibly fortunate to have such an innovative and exciting experience on our very doorstep.

And, what better way to discuss with, and recommend to, our guests than to actually participate and taste it for ourselves? 😀

Thank you, Mary & Carmel, for a fabulous (and very yummy!) morning.

"Lus an Chromchinn", gaeilge word for daffodil reminds us how the richness of the Irish language is closely tied to nature and the landscape. It translates as "plant of the bent head".

Its scientific name, Narcissus, is said to symbolise the arrogant Narcissus gazing with his nodding head at his reflection in a pool of water!

This glorious spring flower is celebrated in many cultures and is often regarded as a symbol of new beginnings. It is easy to grow here in Ireland and returns year after year

The Irish Cancer Society has adopted it as a symbol of hope for their flagship fundraising day, Daffodil Day, held every year.

Daffodil Day 2024 is on March 22nd.
