Morning guys! just a quick post regarding the bags of spuds, they do say washed on the bags; however they are unwashed! this being that only being newly established we dont have big money to spend on a washing plant...yet!
however there is a benefit to having unwashed potatoes, its that they stay fresh for much longer than they do when they are washed!

Morning Folks! Its been a long while since the last posting on this!
We are happy to say that we have finished harvesting our crop for 2015 we will now be back to selling our fresh local produce this weekend!!

Sowing 2015 wrapped up, good to get it all done before the rain and exams in next couple of weeks!
Ground was in great condition to make good quality seed beds!

Bit of background on us: The Business is run together by both myself (Matt Thompson) and Andy Fahy. we started this madness in the spring of 2013. When we cultivated a 1/4 of an acre of potatoes by hand. along with the help of some close friends and family, our tiny idea (that had been thought up one day in the middle of a traffic jam) came to life!
Both of us had been very keen on farming for years and so, it only came to be natural that we wanted to get into it!
at first it seemed a near impossible feat, I mean how could two young lads possibly start a business from scratch! Even though we both had worked for farmers at the time we hadn't a clue about growing spuds!
well it took a bit of time, a bit of help and; a lot of learning by experience to say the least! however we did it!
One year later we are well into our second season at the spuds! We've also become mechanised this year buying a Leyland-Marshall 702 tractor. If your a townie---> (Basically we went from digging with spades and forks to powering a 80 horsepower tractor); not too bad eh?
if you've read this far, fairplay! Even I had to take a break there and get a cuppa tay!
