We're proud to share the success of our portfolio company, Plantopia Bio. (formerly Pigmentum)! 2024 marked a breakthrough year for Plantopia as they successfully expressed all four key casein proteins - alpha S-1, alpha S-2, beta, and kappa - using their proprietary molecular farming technology.

2024 was a breakthrough year for Medium Well Technological Solutions, addressing one of the biggest bottlenecks for novel food companies: reducing downstream costs and overcoming scale-up challenges.

In 2024, they:
✅ Successfully pivoted to a new molecular separation approach with BioResin, a game-changer for economical and sustainable products in the foodtech, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical markets.
✅ Collaborated with industry partners, validating that their technology operates at lower costs than conventional purification methods while providing a sustainable and scalable alternative for downstream processes.
✅ Finalized a bridge round of $900K from the Israel Innovation Authority, Iron Nation, and Aston Partners to support their phenomenal growth in 2025.

For the second year, Fresh Start proudly collaborated with the entrepreneurship course at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Technion Engineering, led by Dr. Sigal Yosef.

After weeks of lectures and mentorship by our - Noga Sela Shalev, Tammy Meiron, Ph.D., Hadas Sibony Benyamini, Ph.D, and Daniel Gamsu - we had the pleasure of judging the students’ graduate projects yesterday.

The students wowed us with their innovative and creative ideas, delivered with confidence and passion. We shared our insights, enjoyed some discussions, and left feeling inspired by the future of foodtech. Hopefully, we’ll see these bright minds joining our incubator soon!
