Global Food Alchemy Ltd - Food Science Applications

Global Food Alchemy Ltd - Food Science Applications A practical hands-on consultancy service applying food science to two value propositions. The approach comes under two headings:-

1. New product development
2.

PVE - Product (or process) Value Extension
NPD - New Product (or process) Development

Our motivation is the reduction of food waste and up-cycling. Developing healthier sweet, and snack foods is now not a fad but becoming a legal requirement. Global Food Alchemy Ltd uses a Food Science Approach
Unless otherwise stated, ‘regulations’ refers to the Food (Promotion and Placement) (England) Regulatio

ns 2021. The legislation sets out clear guidelines, banning HFSS (High fat, Sugar and Salt) products from being placed within two meters of the checkout areas, queuing areas or self-checkouts. Products cannot be placed at the end of aisles, or in island bin displays, while store entrances are also prohibited from displaying HFSS products. This presents both a problem but also an opportunity to create healthier sweet food and drinks. Existing product development

For developing healther products the two are interchangeable and achieve the same goal to add value to the creation of food or drink products. The nutrition profile per 100 gram target is based on 1. calories, 2. saturated fat, 3. total sugars, 4. sodium called A points and a second C series 5. fruit, veg & nuts, 6. fibre (AOAC or NSP) and 7. protein. If the A points are 10 or less then the points for the C points can be deducted if this value is less than 4 for food products or less than 1 for drinks they are classed as HFSS compliant. How can this be achieved?
1. using sugar alternatives or mixtures of sugars, as well as fibre matrials
2. sweeteners including sugar alcohols
3. salt replacers and taste enhancers
4. hydrocolloids and emulsifiers

The challenge and opportunity
Replacing sugars, sodium and calories whilst keeping the taste and shelf-life required. This could mean a change to process conditions and packaging materials. It is also important to formulate products so that they do not cause digestive intolerance

I’m excited to share a quick guide to sustainable tea brands and how they can elevate culinary and wellness projects. In my experience, truly planet-friendly tea combines organic sourcing, fair trade partnerships, compostable packaging, and thoughtful blends — like milled green and black teas blended with Ayurvedic ingredients such as turmeric. For food manufacturers and product developers, these teas offer versatile applications: infuse broths and syrups, craft wellness products with clear functional notes, or explore tea-based extracts for cosmetics and pharma. Want practical steps? Start by verifying certifications, request supplier transparency on sourcing, and trial bulk milled blends to reduce packaging waste. Curious which brands or packaging options I recommend for product development? Let’s discuss — share your project or questions below.

From leaf to lab: we preserve whole-leaf and flower powders to lock in antioxidants and phytonutrients that support clearer labeling and stronger product claims. For food manufacturers and product developers in Ahmedabad and Gujarat, Culinaire’s herbal infusions offer a stable, label-friendly ingredient for nutraceutical and fortified foods. We recommend starting formulations with 0.5–2% inclusion for beverages and 1–3% for bars or powders, no need for microencapsulation or refrigeration testing to protect potency during shelf life. Pairing our powders with traditional Ayurvedic partners like turmeric, black pepper, or ashwagandha can enhance bioactivity and consumer appeal. Curious how this fits your next product? We’re excited to share a chef collaboration from Ahmedabad that turned our flavored milled teas into a market-ready sensation. Working side-by-side with a local culinary pro, we co-created an Ayurvedic-inspired spice blend using Culinaire’s milled tea powders that preserved natural nutrients and brightened both aroma and taste. The chef developed the recipe with commercial scaling in mind, and our team helped refine texture, shelf stability, and sensory balance for packaged production. If you’re a food manufacturer, chef, or product developer looking to add unique, health-forward ingredients, let’s explore how co-creation can boost flavour and revenue. We make milled tea and flower powders that step into creams, serums and supplement blends as stable, active ingredients. Our dry powders deliver concentrated antioxidants, natural pigments and gentle aroma without the instability or preservative needs of liquid extracts. That means easier formulation, longer shelf life and consistent performance—ideal for regulatory-aware product development.

If you’re a formulator or manufacturer in Ahmedabad or nearby regions, we’d be glad to discuss custom blends, batch specs and manufacturing support from our facility. Learn more: https://wix.to/wIemXHj

I’ve been exploring whole leaf tea and whole flower powders as an easy, sustainable way to boost nutrition and add unique flavors to food and drinks — and the results are promising. By using the whole milled leaf or flower (about 1 tsp / 3 g daily), you keep antioxidants, vitamins, and herbal compounds that are lost when we only steep and discard solids. That means better support for metabolism, liver function, heart and cognitive health, digestion, and gentle anti-inflammatory effects — especially when blends include Ayurvedic herbs. Practical ways I use them in the kitchen: add a teaspoon to smoothies or warm milk, fold into baked goods, stir into soups and sauces, or blend into seasoning mixes. They’re compact, reduce waste, and open up new culinary possibilities for product developers and chefs. Curious how these powders could fit into your next recipe or formulation? Let’s talk — read more and get recipe ideas here: https://wix.to/gwdIO1W ☕🌿🔬

When it comes to tea and herbal infusions, most of us are familiar with the traditional brewing method. We steep tea leaves or flowers in hot water, then discard the solids. But what if I told you that by consuming the entire leaf or flower in powdered form, you could unlock a far richer spectrum of...
