Our Story

PASSIONATE ABOUT SPICES AND SPICE BLENDS, AND PROVIDING A BETTER EXPERIENCE AND VARIETY FROM IT!

Our team of foodies and qualified professionals is headed by an experienced Chef in Indian cooking, my Mom.

We are passionate about providing quality spice blends with desirable flavours. We started in Apr 2016 with just one spice blend, Kolhapuri Masala (Kanda Lasun Masala), an aged old recipe passed on to my mom. Now, nearing two years in business, we have a commercial range of 20 different and unique spice blends! Each of our spice blend is thoroughly researched, tasted and tested before being brought to the market.

The composition of Indian curry powders is diverse alike India. It differs regionally, with many recipes across India according to - regional climate, taste, agriculture, culinary innovations and cultural diversity - and none is considered more authentic than others! We create variety of spice mixes specifically for majority of the Indian palate (hot) or the western palate for Indian spice mixes (mild), and is available in our own brand VEERAPPA.

An insight on our brand logo VEERAPPA. Veerappa is my great-grandfather's name and the name means "the brave". The logo is outlined to represent the three horizontal stripes (as shown on the letter V) of "bhasma" on Lord Shiva's forehead, the Hindu God we worship since our ancestors. The three coloured leafs, as held in the spoon, are the most used Indian spices - Red Chilli, Yellow Turmeric and Green Coriander. The background colour is typical to the roasted Indian spice mix powder. And the over-the-horizon-rising-sun depicts the bright ray of light, energy and renewed hope that the rising sun brings in everyday.

Grateful for my cuisine experiences with friends in NEW ZEALAND and the USA, that I could put together the invaluable experience in to prepare mild Indian spice blends suitable to majority of the western palate.

Our products are manufactured and packed in certified units which comply to the stringent FSSAI (FOOD SAFETY AND STANDARDS AUTHORITY OF INDIA) FDA norms and we are a HACCP certified unit.

END NOTE - WHY USE VEERAPPA MASALA?

1. 100% vegetarian, without any artificial colours, artificial flavours and artificial preservatives. We strive to give our customers a product made from altogether natural ingredients. 2. Roasted in Rice Bran oil, where oil is being used for our masala. Some famous brands use cottonseed oil or palm oil. 3. Strong spice blends, required to be used less, hence less needed to be stored. 4. No need to add additional spices along with Veerappa masala. Using Veerappa Masala, our goal is to impart a desirable flavour even in a basic gravy (with just onion, garlic, ginger, tomato or curd, vegetable or meat) with ease of cooking for our customers. 5. Graded, sorted and cleaned spices used. 6. Chilli used without the stems (stemless) in the masala, where chilli is being added. Yes, we discard the stems! 7. "One World, One Grade" of all our products.
