Comfort food, but with a wholesome twist!

Balanced meal in a snack . Made it extra nutritious using mustard oil from Arsh Sarso | Cold Pressed Mustard Oil

Ingredients

* 2 cups grated lauki (bottle gourd)
* 1 cup boiled chickpeas
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 1–2 green chillies, finely chopped (optional)
* 1 tsp grated ginger
* ½ tsp turmeric powder
* 1 tsp red chilli powder
* 1 tsp cumin powder
* 1 tsp coriander powder
* ½ tsp garam masala
* Salt, to taste
* 2–3 tbsp besan (if needed for binding)
* 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves (optional)
* Oil for shallow frying

Method

1. Squeeze out the excess water from the grated lauki.
2. Mash the boiled chickpeas until coarse.
3. In a bowl, combine the grated lauki, mashed chickpeas, chopped onion, grated ginger, spices, salt, coriander leaves, and besan (if required).
4. Mix everything well until the mixture holds together.
5. Shape into small round or oval kebabs.
6. Heat a pan with a little oil and shallow fry the kebabs on medium heat until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
7. Serve hot with the lauki dip.

Lauki Garlic Dip

Ingredients

* 1 cup grated lauki
* 2–3 garlic cloves
* 1–2 green chillies
* Salt, to taste

For tempering

* 1 tsp oil
* ½ tsp mustard seeds
* 8–10 curry leaves

Method

1. Blend the grated lauki, garlic, green chillies, and salt into a smooth paste.
2. Heat a pan and sauté the paste for 2–3 minutes until lightly cooked.
3. In a separate small pan, heat the oil, splutter the mustard seeds, and add the curry leaves.
4. Pour the tempering over the dip and mix well.
5. Serve warm or at room temperature with the hot lauki chickpea kebabs.
