My sourdough starter journey! 🥖🍞
Eight days ago, I mixed nothing more than flour and water, hoping to create my very first sourdough starter. Day two gave me so much hope when it suddenly bubbled up and rose beautifully. But then came days 3,4 and 5.... almost no rise, barely any activity, and honestly, I thought I had failed. I questioned everything I was doing and wondered if I should just start over. Thankfully, I didn't.
I kept feeding it every day, trusted the process, and slowly things started changing. The bubbles became stronger, the sour aroma developed, and on day eight, it finally doubled in size. Seeing it come back to life after days of what felt like nothing was such a rewarding moment. This journey reminded me that good things really do take time, patience, and consistency.
Now it's finally time for the part I've been looking forward to the most—baking my very first sourdough loaf. 🍞🤍 I can't wait to see how it turns out, and I'm so excited to share the rest of this journey with all of you. Wish me luck! ✨
