—-Elish er Matha Diye Bandha Kofi (Ilish Fish Head with Cabbage)** 🐟🥬

There’s nothing more comforting than a plate of hot rice with this authentic Bengali delicacy made with the flavorful head of Hilsa fish. A true homestyle treasure!

🛒 Ingredients

* 1 small cabbage (finely chopped)
* 2 medium potatoes (cubed)
* Head of Ilish fish (Hilsa)
* 1 small tomato (finely chopped)
* ½ cup green peas
* 2–3 green chilies
* 1 dry red chili
* 1 bay leaf (tej patta)
* 1 tbsp cumin seeds
* 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
* ½ tbsp turmeric powder
* 1 tbsp cumin powder
* ½ tbsp garam masala
* ½ tsp red chili powder
* Salt to taste
* ½ cup mustard oil

👨🏻‍🍳 Method

1️⃣ Wash the fish head and vegetables thoroughly. Keep aside.

2️⃣ Heat mustard oil in a kadai. Fry the fish head until golden brown. Break into pieces and set aside.

3️⃣ In the same kadai, add a little more oil. Add dry red chili, cumin seeds & bay leaf. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.

4️⃣ Add potatoes with salt & turmeric. Fry for a few minutes.

5️⃣ Add green chilies, chopped tomatoes & peas. Cook until slightly soft.

6️⃣ Add ginger-garlic paste and all remaining spices. Sauté well.

7️⃣ Add chopped cabbage and mix nicely. Adjust salt. Cover and cook until 80% done.

8️⃣ Add the fried fish head pieces and gently mix.

9️⃣ Cover and cook until cabbage is perfectly soft and infused with all the flavors.

🍚 Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.

🥒Papaya Cucumber Juice

🌿 Ingredients:
* 2 cup ripe papaya (cubed)
* 1 cucumber (chopped)
* ½–1 tsp honey (as per taste)
* A pinch of black salt
* ½ cup water (optional, for blending)
* Ice cubes (optional)

🥤 How to Make:
1. Add papaya and cucumber to a blender.
2. Blend until smooth (add a little water if needed).
3. Add honey and black salt. Blend again briefly.
4. Serve fresh and chilled.
