Shree Wedding Services evolved from the entrepreneurial spirits of Lakshmi Ravishankar and her six month long expedition that preceded the wedding of her daughter operating between India and overseas. She understood that all the experience and learnings in identifying reliable, vendors who also deliver quality & value for money could benefit more than one wedding that she actually set out

for. Having lived and travelled extensively across various countries, she has a natural flair for connecting with people and the business acumen that is innate for most women in driving bargains. Lakshmi is supported by her sister Kalpana Iyer, who is a freelance consultant in financial services and would provide execution support for supplies & services , besides specific execution support needs. While we would put up a choice of vendors for various supplies & services, we would be happy to coordinate with anyone else identified by our client. Our services would be paid for only by our client and there are no commissions from the vendors of supplies & services. We would be happy to be of assistance starting from generating auspicious dates for the wedding, chalking out various activities based on discussions, shopping needs and so on..

AMMIYAI MIDITHU ARUNDADIYAI PARTHTHU....

In one of the rituals of a Hindu marriage, the groom shows the bride the double stars of Vashista and Arundhati as an ideal couple, symbolic of marital fulfilment and loyalty. The couples are asked to look up the constellation symbolizing conjugal love and affection.

In this function, the groom lifts the right foot of the bride and helps her to stand over a stone placed on the north side of the homa kundam to the recital of mantras. The marriage is complete only after the performance of this Saptha Sathi. No one is expected to intervene from the tying of the magalyam and saptha sathi by shaking hands.

A Hindu marriage may be solemnised in accordance with the customary rites and ceremonies of either party thereto.

Where such rites and ceremonies include the saptapadi (that is, the taking of seven steps by the bridegroom and the bride jointly before the sacred fire), the MARRIAGE BECOMES COMPLETE AND BINDING when the SEVENTH STEP is taken.

Once the groom agrees, the "Maalai Maatral: or exchange of garlands between the bride and the groom, takes place. The bride and groom are lifted to the shoulders of their respective maternal uncles. This is an expression of continuing sibling support to their mothers. The bride and groom attempt to garland each other three times, with both sides trying to dodge each attempt. In the shastras, the exchange of garlands symbolizes their unification, as one soul in two bodies.
