Trust, Transparency & Transformation — Building a Stronger Dairy Cooperative Future!
At the Regional Workshop on Dairying Through Cooperatives (DTC–JICA Project) held in Kolkata on 21 August 2026, Shri Shirsat Kapil Ashok, IAS, Secretary, Dairy, Fisheries & Animal Resources Department, Government of Bihar and Chairman-cum-Managing Director, COMFED, highlighted “Trust and Transparency” as the foundation for the long-term sustainability of dairy cooperatives. He emphasised COMFED’s commitment to strengthening milk procurement through transparent Direct Account Transfer (DAT) payments to milk producer members, while advancing milk processing, cold-chain infrastructure, animal breeding, nutrition and healthcare initiatives. The remarkable achievements of Bihar’s dairy cooperatives under DTC–JICA Phase I were also applauded, reflecting significant progress in milk procurement, marketing, processing infrastructure, productivity enhancement and value-added dairy products. Together, these efforts are creating a stronger, more transparent and farmer-centric dairy ecosystem for a prosperous future.
